The game never got a flow to it. It was hard to breath on the opposing team without getting a foul called.

Matt Riley led all scorers with 21, all from beyond the arc.

The Gallatin Co players were being bailed out all night with horrible foul calls...I have never seen a game called so tight on one side and not the other...Sure they called a few fouls here and there on GC but SK at one point I believe had 9 fouls to GC 1...SK looked alot better today than on Mon IMO...Gallatin had pretty decent guards but they both got away with a number of traveling calls as well as obvious carries...Riley and Sampson are a heck of a backcourt...

I'd like to know how many free throws GC shot, I have to believe at least half or more of there points came at the Charity Stripe on mostly terrible calls...

Hard game to watch, no flow at all due to all of the fouls. 14 fouls with 1:30 left in the first quarter should tell you how rough it was. Reilly 7/8 from deep, he was on fire. SK finished with four in double figures led by Reilly's 21, Doss 13, Rabe 13 and Sampson 13. Game could have been much closer, GC missed a boatload of layups and seemed to have their way on drives to the hoop.

The latter.. A ton, ton, of touch fouls that on any given night are not called, for both teams. I thought it was a bad called game all the way around. SK had 5 guys with 2 fouls with 4 minutes left in the second quarter. :lol:

 

Gray picked up his 3rd and 4th 20 seconds apart to start the 3rd and Ayers fouled out with 5 minutes left to go in the 4th. GC was in the bonus with 3 minutes left in the 3rd. The game just had no flow at all.

 

GC is a much better foul shooting team than SK, and that's being nice.

I was suprised to see Gallitin go an entire game without connecting from the arc, that has to be rare.

I'm trying to actually envision what that game was like, considering every time I've ever watched games with NKy-area refs it seems like the whistle's being blown every five seconds for a foul.

Typically the NKY teams play a "walk the ball up the court", and a slower half court offense game, very little pressing and not much in transition. Add the whistle blowing, it usually makes the game pretty painful to watch. Good to see Booher at Holmes, his style of play goes against the norm in NKY.

I think the hand checks are a point of emphasis this year, at least that is my understanding. I am certain the referees are being told that as well.

Doss is a banger and he had post position many times and they didn't get him the ball...I agree they need to get it into him more and then he can kick it back out to Mr.Automatic Matt Reilly...
