Newton ruled eligible (and ineligible) this week

Featured Replies

Only took 10 posts for a Kanter comparison. Apples and Oranges.

If you want a parralel decision, look up Damon Stoudamire at Arizona in 1995 and tell me why Newton was eligible and Stoudamire was not.

True, Kanters parents were acting in the interests of their child trying to be sure he was properly educated, cared for etc. Netwon's dad just saw $$$$$ signs.

One decision has nothing to do with the other.

Which is exactly why the NCAA is a joke, they have no belief in a precedent system.

Isn't the NCAA a non profit? Also they only exsist because the schools allow them to. Its not like the NCAA owns college sports. If the member schools don't like the decisions there is an easy fix.

Don't know if they're a non profit, but they control tons of money regardless. They may technically only exist because of the schools, but try to leave and see what happens to your revenue.

Just look at Intel/Microsoft. They've had to shell out plenty of cash and you don't technically have to buy their products either.

If you are referring to Stoudamire, I agree.

But the Newton decision isn't a precendent for the Kanter decision

Randy, I heard the same report that you did, they raised some interesting facts. Why Auburn? Why not MSU? There is a photo of Cam shaking a cowbell while at a MSU game in the stands.

If the AQ conferences all decided the NCAA had run its course and pulled out it would be bye bye NCAA, at least as the power it is. The fact they don't says it all.

You right, but people didn't HAVE to buy MS/Intel products either. Didn't go so well for those two.

It's not the same and a bad comparison.

What a joke.. and Jesus Shuttlesworth knew nothing of his dad possibly being released depending on what school he went too.
