TCU to Big East?

Featured Replies

Wow! Really old news. Dick needs to read before he writes articles. The Mountain West has told TCU that they can remain in the conference for all other sports, allowing the Horned Frogs to join the Big East as a football only school. Where has Weiss been?

Maybe this article means TCU is officially heading to the Big East, no matter what the MWC has to offer.

This says they have an all sports invitation to the Big East, not just a football invite.

Financially, is that to their advantage?

The Big East has maintained all along that it wants football only and does not wish to expanded it's other sports. I'm sure this guy is more informed than I am, but something seems amiss.

It's all sports...

It's all sports...

I'm sorry. When did that change?

I just heard on espn's first take program that they will go to the Big East in all sports.

From my understanding TCU was an all sport invite all along...

TCU will be a huge factor in Big East football, needless to say they would have ran the table this season but imo they will be at or near the top of that confrence in every year.

Now if they could just get Boise in the confrence it would be between those two in practically every season. :sssh::popcorn:

TCU has scheduled a presser for 1 CT to announce the move to the Big East...

Does TCU have any decent athletic programs aside from football?

An argument could be made that the MWC is actually a better football conference than the Big East. But, the Big East has the money & a BCS bid, so it makes sense from TCU's perspective.

Big time baseball program and the hoops team will make a nice jump once in a power conference. More than enough hoops talent in Texas to go around...

Went to the College World Series in baseball last season. I think basketball has been really up and down over the last decade. Seems like they should be better.

It's all sports...

GT, does this addition signal the end of participation of the Catholic, non-football schools in the Big East? Seems like a 17-team conference would be quite unwieldy.
