November 24, 201015 yr Rand Paul to Pen Tea Party Book While Tea Party members intend to keep a close eye on newly elected representatives on Capitol Hill, one incoming freshman senator plans to put his agenda on paper for all to see. Senator-elect Rand Paul (R-Ky.) will write a new book about the Tea Party movement. "The Tea Party Goes to Washington" will be published by Center Street, a division of the Hachette Book Group. Paul, the son of Congressman Ron Paul (R-Texas), defeated Democrat Jack Conway to become Kentucky's junior senator earlier this month. He ran on a platform of limiting government, slashing its spending, and balancing budgets, all key Tea Party positions. The book will outline his plans to turn those principles into Federal Government policy. In a press release the publishing group calls Paul an "ambassador of the Tea Party movement." The release goes on to tout his legislative plans. "We are excited to publish this blueprint for fresh ideas and approaches to fix what ails our nation" said Center Street Senior Vice President and Publisher Rolf Zettersten. The book's planned February release coincides with Paul's first days in the 112th session of Congress. So, some random questions/observations: It's only a couple of months till his first days in the 112th session of Congress... either it's not going to be a big book, ...or it would have been infinitely helpful to hear what these plans were when he was running against Conway. I never could figure out exactly what concrete plans he had. ...Will I read it? I'm waffling on this one. The potential lack of quality of a book that only takes 2 month's-ish to write is what gets me. ...probably more to come, but this is all for now.
November 24, 201015 yr He hasn't fixed anything yet. Hasn't voted on a bill. Yet writes a book to tell us how to fix things. Kind of like Ryne Sandberg writing a book on the keys to being a successful big league manager
November 24, 201015 yr The press release says it will detail his plans for what he hopes to accomplish. I'm sure that all other freshman senators and representatives have plans as well, Paul is just writing a book on his plans. Just a guess, but I feel he will include the reasons for the ideas he has. Will he accomplish them? Only time will tell.

November 25, 201015 yr I'm very sure it will outsell Nancy Pelosi's recent book. I agree, you could take a crap on a notebook and it would sell better than anything she is involved in. I am as big of Democrat as they come. But I cant stand her. I wish she would just go away!

That's why I compared it to Obama's Nobel, makes no sense since he's done nothing just like Obama hadn't. I wasn't aware Obama also won a Peach prize. Did he come up with a frost resistant fruit? :lol: (Just having a little fun with ya, RM)
November 25, 201015 yr President Obama accepted the prize (even Republican pundits said that he couldn't refuse it) but never sought the award or said that he felt as though he deserved it. I would think that is a little different than what Paul is choosing to do. I have no doubt that Paul will sell a large number of books. At least then, the people that voted for him will know who they elected.

At least then, the people that voted for him will know who they elected. Not much difference to me, both are/were unworthy regardless of the reasons. Do those that voted for Obama know who they elected yet? :lol:
