Word from the grocery store....former Male star I see a lot there and he always talks football - is that Ronjae Morris won't play. And that would totally change the complexion of this game. He's the best player on the field for Male.

I like Males speed! Coach has done a great job in his 1st year getting the kids to buy into his system. I hope it's a Louisville final in Bowling Green next week!

I'll make a prediction.....Male 31 Scott Co. 21........too much athleticism and speed.....Scott Co. is too run oriented and QB doesn't throw well enough to keep Male's defense honest....

 

For those of you not holding a grudge, the Scott Co coach said this is one of the best defenses he's coached. Their D-line has size and the LBs/DBs are quick. Their defense can handle speed. Plus, 80% of Willmott's kickoffs go into or through the endzone, which neutralizes the speed threat on returns.

 

Regarding "too run oriented", lots of defenses have made that mistake this year. Scott Co has 4 or 5 RBs that can move the chains, but about one-third of Scott Co's yards are in the air. Lawler completes 70% of his passes, averaging 20+ yards each and hasn't thrown an interception in the last 8 games...and he can run. He's already being recruited by several D1 schools.

 

Male is a good team and it should be a great game.

On the one hand I would love to see a Male and Trinity final to cheese the whiners off because it would be another all Louisville final (and it would mean that Trinity would have played all 3 of the teams in next years super district in the playoffs this year). On the other hand I would love to see a Trinity/Scott Co. final since the Scott Co. coach opted not to continue scrimmaging the Rocks and has been very vocal in his support of a public/private split (while being AD for a school who's basketball program has a less then savory reputation). If Trinity loses to Ryle then I'm sorry but I just don't think I could care less.

I'd like to see Ryle/Male. Ryle/Scott Cty. But the way I reading things the Rocks are a heavy favorite, and for the next five years too. Might as well get used to it. I'm trying.

How in the world did Scott County make it this far and got beat by one of the worst Boone County teams in the passed 2 decades? Boone has never had much success against the Bulldogs, but on an absolutely disappointing year the Rebels beat them. How?

Regardless of who wins this game (and who wins the other semi) they will go to Bowling Green next week as a decided underdog.
