Please, tell me there's not profiling in the NFL.

I realize that, but the point is it wouldn't have happened that way if the receiver hadn't tucked himself in and dropped his head (and not been hit from the opposite direction). That's where the majority of these penalties come from is things that happen too late for the defender to adjust to it, the play happens so fast. That's why the penalties are so arbitrary, and wrong. Clark didn't "launch himself" into the receiver; the receiver's helmet met his because the receiver ducked, and because he was getting hit from the other direction.

After watching the hit in the Eagles/Giants game that drew a flag also, wow, they have got some serious revamping to do in the offseason with some of the calls by the officiating crews. I know that they are simply following directives from the league, but sheesh, what a joke some of these are.

It was dumb but I thought it was funny he celebrated in Seymours face then got clocked. I'm not a Steelers fan but I would take Harrioson's physical style on my team any day. I wasn't crazy about the call either.

I thought he led with his shoulder. Of course sometimes there is going to be contact with the helmet. Isn't that why they wear them? This league has become way too arbitrary on their hits, penalties, fines and the officials are taking the brunt of all the controversy and complaining when in all reality there isn't much they can do other than enforce the rule as handed down to them from the league. I agree that something has to give.
