The Henry County football program will be searching for a new head coach in the near future. Coach Lyndon Johnson, who handled being put in a tough situation very well, was given a one year "interim" hire. The new coach must also put together an almost new staff as many assistants are not returning. I hope they don't wait to long to begin the search and let qualified candidates be hired elsewhere. Henry County, don't drag your feet on this one. The program is in good shape. Don't let it backslide into being mediocre. Build on a good thing and move forward. Several years of players and coaches have worked too hard to see their program go south now. Good freshman class next year to build on. Several good, experienced returning lettermen. Do the right thing and get busy hiring the best person to take us in to the new district next year. Good luck.

They sure do have a mess on their hands sounds like. Wouldn't it have been easier to let Coach Ledford have his shot at Head Coach at Henry? He would have stayed and continued to build. I know he cares for those kids dearly. Just saying.

What is the story behind this job? It should be an intriguing job for someone.

What all does Henry county have coming back, I just did not see alot of depth when I seen them this year.

I know Ledford is still interested but he feels they need to either hire him out right or its time to move on. He has coached there two years applied twice and interviewed. Seems to me Henry wants to go another route. He was not even good enough to be the interim, even though he carried the most experience, and best resume of the coaches on staff was retained as a coordinator by Engstrand, Graham, and Johnson. So I doubt he will be good enough this time.

There is no problem with Coach Ledford's coaching ability. I feel honored that my son played for him, and feel like he is my kind of old school football man. The deal is he doesn't make much effort to be polliticly correct, wich in this day and time can cause a lot of problems. I say again, not with me, I love the guy.

I know that Coach Ledford has an offer as a Coordinator at really good school. Out of respect to both, I cannot say who yet. But the powers to be at Henry better get going and offer Ledford the HC position or it may be too late.

If offered the HC position I think he would. He absolutely loves those kids up there.
