Steelers 27 Bengals 21

Featured Replies

Having just read the plethora of critiques on the Bengals in this thread, rather than try to respond to each comment that caught my eye quote by quote, I'll just try and give a synopsis of my thoughts:

1. Bob Bratcowski (sp?) couldn't get hired as an offensive coordinator by a Pop Warner team. Hint to Bengal opponents--Run left, run right, incomplete pass--Punt (Block).

2. Cincinnati Bengals will NEVER win consistently with Mike Brown in charge of the team!!.

3. Cincinnati Bengals will NEVER get a quality coaching staff while Mike Brown is in charge of this team!!

4. Regardless of the talent this team drafts or brings in, the lack of quality coaching will never develop that talent!!

5. Chad needs to change his name to Chad Dance-o-Chinco, and find a line of work that demands less contact!!

6. While TO may have had "issues" in the past, he may be the most professional player on the roster!!

7. Both lines have one thing in common--They Both Suck!!

8. Mike Brown couldn't find a defensive lineman with a GPS, a real scouting staff & a search warrant!!

9. Benson is the real deal and a "lucky find" for the Bengals, but is mis-used and has no consistent blocking in front of him. Advise--Go free agent ASAP. 10. Bengals always hire good coordinators, who always make BAD head coaches!! Mike Brown yes men who never get head jobs elsewhere.

11. Nepotism seldom works effectively!!

12. Bengal fans are among the most un-demanding group in all of "professional sportsdom"!! They continue to give & give and never say NO!!

13. Marvin Lewis, while a good guy like several before him, has not only lost control of this team, but also his staff and has become officially "Bengalized"!!

14. Andre Smith is slower than a turtle, but can probably out eat one of those giant ones!! He is typical of the type of underachieving, lazy, slug-like 1st-2nd round choices that have made the Bengals well--The Bengals!!

15. Why could Jon Gruden, Mike Turico and Jaws see the middle of the field was WIDE OPEN on their last drive, due to the type "D" the Steelers were playing, but "Brat", the Bengals' offensive braintrust, and so-called All Pro QB couldn't??

16. I could go on, but what's the use--It will never change!! Sad!!

Take 'em however you can get 'em. Bring on the Pats.

No doubt. Now Steelers left tackle Max Starks may miss the season with a neck injury. That won't be good. Steelers dropping like flies. Can't advance with health issues.

^I know it's in Pittsburgh and it's in primetime, but the Steelers are banged up and they're welcoming an angry Patriots team to town. I'll be shocked if New England doesn't come out on top in this one.

Me too, especially after coming off a loss. The winner of this game will definitely have an inside track to not only a playoff berth but we are starting down the road to homefield at this point.

I think you're reading too much into my statement. I just meant that I'm ready for next week's game; nothing more, nothing less. I recognize the fact that this Steelers squad has plenty of warts.

Well the Browns walked all over them if that makes you guys feel better. I mean ran all over them.

Sure do wish they were coming in off the win over Minnesota rather than an ugly beating at the hands of the Brown Spots in a trap game.

Well things just got exponentially eaiser for the Steelers. Gostkowski is on IR, and big-game Shayne Graham will be handling the kicking duties in New England now....Big Red is going to be the death of me. :ohbrother:

Was just looking at the standings in the paper. First thought that came to my head was:

You know things are bad, when you look up and there's something brown floating above you.

Starks placed on IR, having surgery to repair disk issue in his neck.

Well done, sir!

It doesn't happen often, but I do have my moments. :D

These close games in a poor season, just reinforces Mike Brown's opinion that no need to change anything as they are close.
