November 5, 201015 yr This is really about Griffin, for the record, and a huge mistake as Olbermann is MSNBC's top property and his is the only show they have that competes with Fox for top 10 slots.

November 5, 201015 yr So screw the rules that are in place, right? If they're smart business men, they'll do what's best for their company, and doing well by Olbermann is what is best for their company. I mean, you can get behind that, right?
November 5, 201015 yr Also, Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan have donated to Republicans and not been touched. This is a personal beef.
November 5, 201015 yr Also, Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan have donated to Republicans and not been touched. This is a personal beef. As I understand it, it's not the donation but his not following policy to have it approved ahead of time.
November 5, 201015 yr Also, Joe Scarborough and Pat Buchanan have donated to Republicans and not been touched. This is a personal beef. You obviously either didn't read the article you posted, or just chose to ignore the substance of it. He wasn't suspended for making the donations, he was suspended because the network's policy is that all donations must be disclosed to management before making them.

Not even close to the same thing, but why would that stop you from making an outrageous comparison....What rules is a company breaking by sending jobs overseas, or reducing their workforce?

November 5, 201015 yr I'll be interested to see how this shakes out, for more than one reason. One more thought ... for all the furor about NPR's decision to fire Juan Williams because he supposedly violated some of the rules set forth by his employer, will there be the same outrage if Olbermann is fired by MSNBC?

One more thought ... for all the furor about NPR's decision to fire Juan Williams because he supposedly violated some of the rules set forth by his employer, will there be the same outrage if Olbermann is fired by MSNBC? It would be just as stupid as the Williams firing was. Neither should lose their jobs for their actions.
November 5, 201015 yr If Scarborough (or others) have indeed failed to do the same & not been punished for it, then this is absurd. I'm far from a fan of MSNBC & Olberman, but it sounds like a personal rift playing itself out here.
