Thamel sent out this tweet shortly before 6:00 p.m.:

 

BREAKING NEWS: We have on-record confirmation the NCAA is investigating the recruitment of Cameron Newton.

Former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond told ESPN.com that a teammate of Bond's at Mississippi State in the early 1980s contacted him soon after Newton's official visit to Mississippi State during the Ole Miss game in December, and said he was representing Newton.

Not surprisingly, the article is written by Pat Forde...

He couldn't come up with anything new to blame on Cal, so he moved on to something else? I'll believe this just as much as all his previous unfounded allegations.

For the sake of Forde and Thamel, I hope there is some truth to this article or their credibility is completely gone!

Oh give me a break, the independent investigators all but said the Bledsoe people were lying, and the articles that have came out this afternoon all over have several sources talking about an investigation and quoting people from Mississippi State who were competing hard with Auburn for Newton. Just because as a UK fan you don't like what Thamel said doesn't mean he's a terrible reporter, the guy is doing his job. But because he wrote a couple of articles about UK everything he writes must be completely untrue.

Except for the fact that numerous "facts" in his articles about UK were found to be inaccurate....Yeah, he's such a good reporter. He doesn't fact check. He just writes what he hears.

The one about the revenue generated by the Turkish team for starters....Is Thamel really so stupid that he didn't think the numbers were inflated when the GM told him the amount they bring in is more than the Lakers? Or the one where he took a quote from Enes' father about his younger son, and attributed to Enes, trying to make him look bad?

SI is also reporting that the church his father preaches at was about to be condemned as unsafe then a large influx of cash allowed them to completely remodel and upgrade the church, no word on where the cash came from.

I've spoken to two very trusted sources on the situation, and both said the following are facts:

 

* Florida coach Urban Meyer, Mississippi State coach Dan Mullen and former Mississippi State quarterback John Bond had a telephone conversation recently to discuss the allegations.

 

* Meyer had an interest in this story getting out and encouraged Bond to do so.

 

* Mullen told the two he thought they should move on, let it go, regardless of what was being alleged. Meyer said no, that it needed to get out to the media.

 

* Kenny Rogers, who is alleged to have sought money, is a desperate individual that was trying to get Cam Newton to go to Mississippi State. Rogers has a checkered past that includes an ongoing investigation by the NFL.

Deliverance in Newnan, GA, was about to be condemned and then magically the good

Bishop shows up at the city council meeting with his contractor and promises

they have secured funds to make the necessary repairs to the church.

Mullen to take Cam back, but

because he had already turned info in to the SEC he

could not do it so Cam went to Auburn. Another friend of mine has said the

church, a very small, poor church which has very little financial means, is

practically a new church and that Mr. Newton's

new delivery company is doing

very well hauling for a construction company that builds chain stores.

One thing is certain. There is a lot of smoke, and that normally means
