When are they planning for this to be implemented? If Villanova is considered, isn't there a moratorium on schools moving up from I-AA?

 

And with the vote being unanimous, how soon does that put an end to the Notre Dame Broadcasting Company?

If it's only 10 right now I think TCU and Houston will be in the next wave to get to 12. I figured they would be the first two targets, so the Nova info surprised me a bit. Remember this has been in the works for months and dates back to the conference bringing in Paul Tagliabue as a consultant early in the year...

If it could get to 12 games it would allow for a conference championship, right? I don't think the teams being mentioned will improve the quality of football in the Big East much, if at all, though.

Too early to tell. If this is the plan, it might put ND in jeopardy of losing a spot at the Big East table for all sports not football...

Which would be the one thing that I think would force them to join a conference in football. I still think that the Big 10 is the best fit for Notre Dame, they are right in the middle from a geographical standpoint, and they have historical rivalrys with several of the current members.

 

I still believe that the 16 team superconfrences are coming, just not as fast as everyone thought earlier in the year.

I've talked to people that think DePaul might get the boot before the Irish.

I think the time is ripe for Notre Dame to take the Big East football plunge. Get shed of some of the teams on the schedule they can't beat like Navy and Tulsa and replace them with some BE creampuffs.
