CCH will be fine from all aspects of the game. Thelen will dominate the inside, their speed, and athleticism will dominate with defense, and their guard postition will be played by a two year veteran who is the fastest kid in the 9th region. IMO.

Wow....

Fastest in the 9th region? Who? Maschinot? I must've missed something.

Speed? Where is this speed that you speak of?

Athleticism? Connelly, I agree with but outside of him, what other athletes does CCH have?

This Covcath team isn't going to be as good as you're predicting. Hate to be the bearer of bad news.

I agree, unless they have something hidden that I didnt see last year I dont see them competing for the title. Thelen will "get his" and probably be up for POY but you still have to get the ball down the court in order to feed your big fella.

Attended one of the first practices at CovCath after the installation of the new floor and you can't believe how bright the gym seemed to be, with the new floor down.

The team is coming together nicely and I believe Coach L will have the guys ready to compete as per usual, in the 35th District and Ninth Region.

While my guy might be a little overconfident he is correct that Conner Maschinot and Austin Hudepohl are two of the fastest and better overall athletes in NKY.

Tommy Arnzen could be that hidden something from last year. If he is healthy.

Tommy Arnzen?

The baseball player who is around 6'5 and is as competitive as can be? Funny but I haven't seen him ever shoot a basketball in the CovCath gym!

Now the kid can hit a baseball and throw a mean curve and he did beat last years Ninth Region Baseball champs the Boone County Rebels, while pitching the last four innings but basketball?

Really he can play basketball?

You know, you learn something new each and ever day on BGP's!

Hudephol, speed Schult, defense, Baker, defense, Cleves, shooting, and athletic, Hayden agressive, Arnzen, we will see, Maschinot, speed Connely, athleticism, speed, Riedinger, shooting Thelen, overall good. All bring different aspects. From the looks of it there it looks pretty promising? Correct me if im wrong.

Are you being facetious (sp?) TOG? : )

Once again the Colonels will have a lot of options to figure out. Baker can jump out of the gym and shoot the ball too. Guard speed is going to be unmatched, but speed can kill too. Thelen is one of the best. Connelly is simply the most fun to watch as he can do things that don't even seem possible. Lots of good shooters who didn't see much varsity time last season. I know it is nice to have options as a coach but having too many options can cause team conflict. Coaching this group of talented men is going to be the key.

I'm not as convinced that there are "lots of good shooters."

I didn't see it last year, but one year does change alot for most kids. I think their biggest struggle will be the outside shot, unless improvements have been made there as well. Curious, who is on the staff this year with Coach L?

I really don't see it this year either, last year the two main scorers were Thelen and Welbrock; didn't see much or remember anyone else that stood out on last years team. I remember they had a hard time handling the ball up top and could not shoot very well from the outside. If Thelen and Welbrock struggled, they couldn't hardly score.

I'm sure the boys will improve from last year to this year but I just can't see the improvement making them any more than an above average team in NKY. JMO

Marty Petroze has joined the coaching staff. Last season Marty assisted Brian Neal at Thomas More and prior to that assisted Coach Darpel at NDA. Although he will have to make a transition to the mens game he is a coach who gets very much in tune with the players.

Could you give me a current guard in the 9th who in your opinion is a "good shooter"? I do agree my statement was a bit overdone. Time will tell.

Marty will be a great addition to the staff.
