Ballard is the best public in the state. I really like what the new coach is doing with the Bruin program. With that said, I think the only way Ballard can keep this game close is with some trickery. There talent on the offense should put some points on the board. I just don't see there defense stopping the Rocks offense. GO ROCKS! #20! Score: Trinity- 48 Ballard-20 in the last district game for these schools. here is some stats to ponder...

District Dominance!

The Shamrocks have won 46 straight games in district play and are 65-1 under Beatty in district games. Trinity’s last loss in district play came on Sept. 19, 2003, a 34-33 loss at Seneca.

• Trinity is 41-5 all-time against Ballard, having won 21 straight in the series. Beatty is 15-0 against Ballard.

• Trinity is 34-2 all-time against Eastern including a 12-0 mark under Beatty. Trinity has won 18 straight games in the series dating to 1994. The teams have met annually since 1987. The largest win in the series for the Shamrocks came on Oct. 17, 2001 in a 57-0 win.

• Trinity is 13-2 all-time against Seneca, including a 9-1 mark under Beatty. The Oct. 9, 2010 win tied for the second largest in series history at 49 points. The record is 52 set on Oct. 19, 2007 in a 55-3 win.

I stand corrected! The largest win in the series for the Shamrocks came in 2005 in a 70-7 win.

Disagree about us 'hating' T. It may still happen at every other school, but the days of making them out to be some kind of 'big green monster that is only good because they cheat' are over at Ballard. We talk only about their excellent ability to execute, their tremendous athletes, and their great off-season program (and all that is for a purpose -- to raise the bar for our guys).

Now, I don't think they like US very much -- especially based on some comments I heard were said by certain people after we played them close last year.

Right on CoachJ! I'm glad to hear that! You are doing great things at changing the culture at Ballard. It shows on the field. Personally, I don't like the word “hate”. Let's just agree that neither school likes each other. That's what makes this rivalry so much fun. Looking forward to a great game on Friday!

Coach, it looks like you are telling your kids that stuff as motivation. Whatever works for you. I've been around this area for a long time. Believe me, the feelings are much stronger at Ballard than at Trinity. That's okay. It's what you expect when you are on top.

T will win 24-10, BTW how is Ballard the best public school in the state when Male beat them and only lost to X with 18 seconds to go. Ballard has a fine team but it amazes me how even after the Dawgs beat them and go 6-2 so far, how they still are not mentioned as the best public school this season.

Coach J, I have been singing your praises for the past two years. I appreciate you having the stones to recognize the dedication and hard work Trinity has put into their program for over 40 years to reach the level they are today. I only hope that with the new district allignment, you will continue to schedule us. Good luck the rest of the season!

Coach;

My comments were not directed at Your Team or Staff -- but based upon perceptions and information regarding the entire School community. Have seen evidence of it at other B-T atheletic events. The b-ball games can be particularly nasty - with the "chants and cheers..etc."

Just my observations.

Kids will be kids. Ballards student section was brutal on Brad Kragthorpe last year but that's part of the game.

Male's was worse.

Anybody "in the know" know id this will be the swansong of regualar season match ups between these two schools? This certainly seems to be tailor made as a perfect season opener for both teams but that's just my opinion.

It isn't part of the game. That stuff was just nasty and the young man did not deserve the treatment he received at Ballard or Male. Male was worse, but that doesn't say much. This is not there for the coaching staff to fix, but it does reflect very poorly on the school and by association, the team. I would hope that the school administration will do something about it. If they refuse, I would hope that the JC school board would take action to find out why the principal won't do his job.

Well said. I know this is a football forum but anyone who's attended a basketball game between these two teams has witnessed it first hand. A few years ago when the Ballard students took it on themselves the attack (and I use that strong word intentionally) a Trinity player by calling out his mother BY NAME and making very unflattering comments about her that crossed the line. I'll be the first to admit that if allowed to the Trinity student body at games could and would degenerate into this type of behavior, the difference is that the adults involved with one program (while likely not condoning it) allow it to continue.

That is exactly what I was thinking of . If Coach J doesnt think there is a problem - with that school community - he is totally out of synch. Thus the reason for my original comment -- about the strong "dislike" by B toward T. I do not recall anything similar coming from our side.

Don't kid yourself, our kids would do the same, IF they were allowed. If it started from our side Rob Mullin would be in the stands to shut it down. That is what did not happen last year from either the Ballard or the Male administrations.

Do not think these teams like each other very much. As a matter of fact -- I'm pretty sure that B hates T.

TEst Time.

Go ROCKS.

The original comment was about the teams not liking each other very much. It did not mention the student bodies, fans, administrations, etc. I suspect that's why Coach J responded. He's quite well qualified to discuss the attitude of the Ballard football team.
