October 16, 201016 yr I can't stand to watch it. They are pathetic on just about every front. Terrible!!!:madman: Brown needs to go!!
October 16, 201016 yr Fans should just start booing, get Brown out of there he is obviously not the answer not that hard of a decision.
October 16, 201016 yr How many times can you blitz and get burned? I'm all for being aggressive, but its obviously not working.
October 16, 201016 yr I don't think the DE's or DT's can cover the back out of the backfield. Man they are terrible. I like bringing pressure but you have to sure up the schemes.
October 17, 201016 yr I thought it was Hartline's fault? Time for a new schtick. This one is played out.
October 17, 201016 yr Time for a new schtick. This one is played out. Then tell UK fans to quit blaming him week after week. Time to find a new scapegoat.
October 17, 201016 yr Then tell UK fans to quit blaming him week after week. Time to find a new scapegoat. Link me to the last time somebody blamed Hartline for a loss.
October 17, 201016 yr Link me to the last time somebody blamed Hartline for a loss. This was just after 15 minutes of looking and I'm rather tired from it. Please don't tell me you havent seen the Hartline Blame Game because you are there defending him in several of the threads the following come from. Is absolutely horrible !! I try not to be negative when it comes to the student athletes ; but how can you have Qbs like Uk has on their roster and him be there #1 option . WOW. He is quite bad, I tried giving him the benefit of the doubt starting the season but his play against Florida has been horrendous to watch. He is making mistakes that pee wee QB's don't even make. This was his chance and he failed miserably, come out of halftime using QB by committee and let Hartline ride the pine. Hartline absolutely played terrible, but the play calling was horrible too. No vertical stuff early. No miss-direction, screens etc... Simply put, Hartline doesn't have the arm strength to throw long. Any completion over 15 yards, the receiver has to come back or make an adjustment for. Good teams know this and have the athletes to cover our receivers and let Hartline throw long all day, should Joker want to attempt it. Otherwise, they will stack up on the run and take away the short pass. Give Mossakowski a shot since he is supposed to have the most accurate arm. Newton has a strong arm but is not accurate. Gave them 21 points and the at the start of the third two PF penalities and seven more points given away. Hartline starting to look like the old Hartline and no down field passing at all. UK is not very good. Hartline is the lightning rod, but the passes he completed against UL, WKU and Akron are now getting picked off by quicker and better defenders. They wont win big with Hartline at quarterback. Misses too many throws on and on... IMO, Joker needs to play for the future and either start Newton or Moss, whoever he thinks gives Uk the best chance the next couple of years. This is as good as it will get with Hartline. Read a decent piece on another board regarding Hartline and Newton. If anything with Newton in the game, UK relied on their best players to make plays and that was Cobb and Locke. In 152 passes Newton only threw 3 picks. But with him in there they relied on their most talented players to make plays. Simply they are not going to win with NoodleArm throwing 46x a game. Some of you guys amaze me. The Cats did not lose the game because of Hartline. You put up 35 - you're supposed to win. This only the second time in 3 years or so that the Cats have put 35 on an SEC team. They lost it because they had too many breakdowns as a TEAM. We gifted them 4 TDs. Three turnovers by 3 different people, and a horrible special teams coverage. Add to that some bad penalties, a couple of dropped first down passes and you're normally going to lose. Even if it's not Hartline's fault I'm ready for one of the young guys. The defense is awful so this team cannot realistically be that great. Which leaves me to say that I'd rather get one of the young guys experience and build for the future (next year could be pretty good I think), even if it means only 5 wins. I don't care if that is stupid, I'm ready to see Moss or Newton take over for good so they can get ready to play in the SEC. They're not getting any better sitting on the sidelines. Hey Hartline, you suck! Hartline is horrible. There wasn't anything UK could have done to prepare for UF. Florida is simply better. They are bigger, faster, and more talented. Look at UF's DL and LBs and then look at UKs. Compare their offensive lines. The only things UK has that compare to UF are WRs and Derrick Locke. Hartline has proven to be "captain checkdown" once again. Horizontal passes do not work against the UFs and Bamas of the world, they turn into 3 yard gains at best and pick 6's at worst. UK was not aggressive enough to be able to move the ball and score consistently. Deep passes to Matthews were money all night. Cobb made some nices plays in the intermediate middle of the field. How about some misdirection? How about a screen or two to Locke? None of that probably would have mattered though. While the qb situation would have not changed the outcome of the game this game did show once again that UK is not going to win big games with Hartline. Might be a great young man but he's not an SEC qb.
October 17, 201016 yr This was just after 15 minutes of looking and I'm rather tired from it. Please don't tell me you havent seen the Hartline Blame Game because you are there defending him in several of the threads the following come from. So you just quoted a bunch of things, in which nobody blames him for a loss? And several compliment him? Brilliant. Like I said, time for a new schtick. From your quotes above: "the QB situation would have not changed the outcome of this game" "Deep passes to Matthews were money all night" "its not Hartlines fault" "The Cats did not lose the game because of Hartline"
October 17, 201016 yr Firing Steve Brown is not the answer to UK's defensive struggles. This is the same coach that the defense improved 3 straight years under. A couple of those seasons the defense carried the team. They are young this season with only 2 seniors. I think the last 2 weeks show that it isn't Brown--it is the youth and inexperience of his defense. Both weeks the opponent had found a weakness in their scouting report that they managed to exploit in the first half, both weeks the problems were addressed and the defense played fine in the second half. UK has lost 7 NFL caliber players the last 2 seasons--they simply don't have the ability to reload like some other teams do. The last 3 years Brown was praised for his work, this year everyone wants him fired? He's the same coach. Attitudes like this are why I have such a hard time dealing with a lot of other UK fans.
October 17, 201016 yr I included those because it's obvious to others that people are blaming Hartline for the loss. Everyone except you that is. Great win tonight and I feel good for Hartline. I hope it gets the fanbase off his back now and people can accept that UK can win with him at QB.
