Heard Hayes didn't play. Have no idea why?

The Birds played well tonight. Harris, Wrobleski, Houliston and Shadle all ran the ball with purpose. Greene had a nice catch, and Hergott had a couple of screens thrown to him with tough runs after catch. Harris, Hergott, Schweitzer and Hope owned the Raiders on defense! Hayes did not play tonight.

A little disappointed tonight however as I hear the Breds will NOT be playing the Birds next week. Anybody have any insight/confirmation on this? Heard they are playing in the small school championship. If not, looks like it is an off week before the championship. Anybody know if this will be moved due to the Ryle v HHS varsity matchup?

Go Birds...Beat ??? whoever you play next!

Ouch. Good luck to both teams for the remainder of the year. Who will HHS play in the playoffs?

That is a shame if true about next week? I have a bunch of boys that asked to miss practice to see this match up! It should be scheduled in the younger ranks.

In all reality, no Shame at all. I agree it would be fun to see the HHS/NewCath rival rekindled. But lets face it, it would not be pretty. This doesnt bother me one bit if NCC elects not to play. This game would mean nothing to the outcome of the small school standings but rather be a strain on NCC personnel and put them in jepordy of injuring a key player or so. If this is true that NewCath is calling this off then I say "so what". No shame to call it off in an effort to protect your program. This is why when teams and coaches sit down and schedule how they pick and choose their opponents wisely and not schedule based on their heart. BirdBath, lets focus on the other Public vs Private matchup tonite. Hope you are letting the boys off for this one? LOL Go Birds 20n10

I am 99.99% sure the HHS/NewCath game is off. Maybe someone else can chip in the other 0.01%?

I agree that this would not be a pretty game anyway. The numbers just aren't on NCC's side this year. Too bad Highlands couldn't get SK frosh to fill in.

too early in the morning.

Next Thursday night, NCC will be playing Beechwood in round #1 of the freshman small school division playoffs.

So, is there only going to be one postseason large-school frosh game this year in NKY (the championship game), or will there be semifinal games played?

I think that Highlands will only play in the championship game. I am not sure of the other schools records, but I believe heading into this week both CovCath and Campbell County had 1 loss in the large school division. I know CovCath still must play SK, not sure who Campbell has left on their schedule. If both CovCath and Campbell win out, they would end tied for 2nd with 1 loss a piece. If they both lose next week, then it might be a 3 way tie for 2nd.

If there is a two way tie for 2nd, I believe they are considering playing an elimination game between Campbell and CovCath. If there is a 3 way tie, I have no idea what the tie breaker would be.

Or...they're in the playoffs in their division, which would take precedent.
