I'm surprised Terry is still with the Braves, he has not been a very good hitting coach for the Braves, no way he would ever become the manager.

Did you not like the way he handled the Hanley R. situation?I think the Hanley situation could have been handled better; but overall I'm not upset about it. Here are a few things off the top of my head I didn't like about Fredi. 1. Under Fredi's watch the team made TONS of errors, mainly due to mental errors which I don't feel were ever addressed by Fredi. They finished 1st, 3rd, and 6th in errors during Fredi's full years (5th this year). It has been a young team the entire time and in my opinion Fredi wasn't capable of managing a team of this make up (I'll get to this more). 2. I know some don't buy into it, but Fredi rarely got off the bench and didn't seem to stick up for his players on questionable calls. I know he is regarded as a players manager, but with the young players I would have really liked to see more fire from Fredi. Personally, I got sick of watching Fredi have a "you'll have that" attitude from the bench. He was a polar opposite to Cox in this regard. 3. Fredi is ATROCIOUS at handling the bullpen. Braves fans, just wait...you'll be blown away. I liked Fredi as a guy, but was not sad to see him go at all.

October 14, 201015 yr Author Some of you can disagree all you want but Fredi was a great successor to Cox. I don't know what people expected out of him in Florida, IMO he did a really good job while he was there considering they had a AAA ball club on the field outside of Hanley and Uggla. It was a surprise move to EVERYONE when they fired him. Gonzalez will fit in just fine with the Braves organization partly because he came from there and he knows what the expectations are to manage there. No, it's not going to be easy to follow behind Cox but IMO they couldn't have found a better replacement.
