October 14, 201015 yr Some of you can disagree all you want but Fredi was a great successor to Cox. I don't know what people expected out of him in Florida, IMO he did a really good job while he was there considering they had a AAA ball club on the field outside of Hanley and Uggla. It was a surprise move to EVERYONE when they fired him. Gonzalez will fit in just fine with the Braves organization partly because he came from there and he knows what the expectations are to manage there. No, it's not going to be easy to follow behind Cox but IMO they couldn't have found a better replacement. :lol: Not surprising you'd feel that way...It's not like you've ever criticized a move the Braves make...

Frankly, the Marlins have some issues, and I don't know if Gonzalez was to blame or not ... stuff like playing Bonifacio and leading him off, not to mention playing him at third base when it's clear the team would be better off with his glove at second and Uggla in another position. And it just seems that the Marlins don't place much of a value on putting a good defensive team on the field, all of which undermines a pitching staff that's got some talent.

That Estrada trade did work out well for a year until he got hurt, then he never recovered. I liked the Teixeira trade when it went down because I felt it gave the Braves a chance to win now but in hindsight it was a horrible move.

Also, after the "Hanley incident" many national writers suspected it may have been on the horizon. To say it was a surprise to everyone is silly.
