Desales 27 Corbin 21 (3OT)

Offensive Pass Interference is loss of down and fifteen yards, ask any Manual person we've been called for this 4-5 times this year.

Once our Te was covered, normally this is just a 5 yd pentalty for ineligible downfield on a pass, but since the TE caught the ball it was Off pass int, 15 yards and loss of down.

What happened in your case, did the Wr push off, or was someone blocking while the ball was in the air? Or were they covered up in the formation?

Exactly, Coach Farris Knows more than that man ever will. If he is going to dog Coach Farris he needs to have alittle more knowledege of whats goin on. Some people have no sense at all. You call your self a corbin fan, act like one. Those players support there coaches, if you are as much a fan as you say you are, you would too, with comments like that. Just root for your one team!

GREAT SEASON REDHOUNDS

You proved alot of people wrong this year, that is somthing to be proud of.

Now, time to hit the weights and get ready for next year, use this as a building tool.

Wow!?! Corbin didn't throw the ball much??? Against a very weak pass defense?? Garrard threw the ball 36 times and completed 19 against the Colts last week. What were Cashen's passing stats and why did the Hounds not air it out??

The WR was called for pushing off.

Congratulations to Coach Sander and the DeSales Colts. Great road win. :thumb:

The Corbin coaching staff did a fantastic job with this team which was evident by the vast improvement made over the course of the year. With everyone that the Hounds lost from last year plus the key injuries suffered to an already thin team, Corbin could have easily only won 2-3 games this year, but the staff had them competing in every game even when they were badly overmatched and they came within a couple of feet of getting to the regional championship game. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Great effort by the Redhounds!

Eric Blackwood was a difference maker all season. His ability to adjust to the ball is remarkable. He made several huge plays for the his team. He is a special player, and I hate to see his career end with an injury.

Ryan Tate stepped up after Blackwood's injury last night to give the Redhounds a chance to win. He improved in every game. He was a great addition to the team.

Lucas Henson also made some super plays. The pass he made on the TE reverse when it was 4th and 20 was special to say the least. (mathemagician you may want to think about that play, before berate Willard as "old School".)

Redhound fans are very proud of this team and coaching staff. You could have hung your head early in the season, but instead you showed that Redhound Pride and turned the season around. I want to thank you for your hard work and dedication to the program. Stay focused and work hard in the off-season! :thumb:

DeSales has a tough, gritty bunch of kids and their coach was very animated on the sideline trying to keep his team fired up. They took advantage of an opportunity late in the game and made the most of it sending the game into OT, during which they made one more play than the Hounds were able to.

Whichever way the final score went, the losing team probably deserved a better fate on this night, but since there are no ties allowed one of these two very deserving teams had to leave disappointed.

Congrats Hounds on a fine season.

As far as the blame game goes....sometimes the ball just does not bounce your way. Willard is a great coach, the kids love him and that is the true indication of a coach. He not only produces good football players, but fine young men. I am happy to call him a friend.

It really gets old reading (not just on this thread) fans on coaches backs when they have no concept of how much time and effort goes into coaching any sport. Do they see the coaches staying till 2:00 and 3:00 AM after games doing laundry, coming in on Sundays to break down film? Do they understand the personal sacrifice of these men who miss family time (kids and grandkids games, ballet recitals, etc.) who use that time to prepare the teams, who take verbal abuse from fans who don't have a clue about what it really takes to win? I have respect for every coach, although I don't agree with some of thier tactics sometimes, and in some cases don't even like them, I do respect the job they do.

Fans have to understand somtimes teams are just better, remember the coaches can't suit up and play, they would if they could but they can't so they try (sometimes in vain) to make the kids play at higher levels than the kids think they can. Willard Farris is a class guy and without him, I would venture to say that Corbin might not have been as far down the road as they were.

Terry Joe Martin disappointed me again, when the Hounds had it fourth and 20 in the second overtime he was ready to close the book, but Willard made a great play call and the kids executed. Sometimes you just have to believe and TJ Martin did not. Shame, Shame, Shame......Listen to Stan Lovitt, that guy believes, no matter what the circumstances. In Mr. Martin's defense, it takes alot of time and preparation to do games on the radio and it is obvious he does not do it and it is only a side line thing for him.

Guys, in no way was I meaning to disrespect any of our coaches. I just thought I would have liked to have seen us air it out opening up the 2nd half and I would have tried to do something at the end of regulation, I do understand why we didn't. I believe most of us know how soft Mitchell played pass D this year, and obviously the coaches do as well since he didn't play but 3 or 4 plays until Eric got hurt. I believe he should have had some help.

What happened to Dave King on the radio?

I believe that they are referring to someone else's comments.

I wondered the same thing about aour pass coverage late in the game, but in retrospect, with Martin, Sanders, Freeman all out of the game and Blackwood getting hurt, Corbin probably had every DB in the game that they felt could do the job and did not feel like subbing for one of the LB's would have really helped. Playing a 2-deep zone may have been another option, but I'm not sure if that is in our defensive scheme or not.

It was just a tough situation to put a young, inexperienced sophomore in, but it's a team game and Corbin had several opportunities to put this game away and DeSales just would not let them do it.

It wasn't your comment that bothered me at all.

It wasn't you that said coach Farris was a joke. How in the world do you get that. Does he even know him, has he even played for him?

Yep, you are right about the DBs. I looked up and down the sidelines and didn't see anyone else. Obviously the loss left a bad taste in everyones mouth, but I believe it made the younger kids hungry for next year. With the young players coming back and a few playing that didn't play this year along with 3 or 4 transfers I'm hearing about the hounds should be back on top.
