October 7, 201016 yr Just wanted to know if anyone heard the particulars on what happened to Eddie Fingers. It was announced today that he is no longer part of WLW!
October 7, 201016 yr Wouldn't surprise me if it was part of a publicity stunt. With WLW, you never know.
October 8, 201016 yr No longer pics of him on WLW site or the blog he shared with the Tracer. No mention of him anywhere on the site.
October 8, 201016 yr No longer pics of him on WLW site or the blog he shared with the Tracer. No mention of him anywhere on the site. I'd bet my house, it's a prank.
October 8, 201016 yr I heard him on the BigOne yesterday with Tracy. I didn't catch their show today. Curious?
October 8, 201016 yr People inside the Clear Channel building, and others who deal regularly with WLW-AM or Fingers, all tell me that this is NOT a prank (although with WLW-AM you never really know). They say Eddie Fingers’ contract was up, and renewal negotiations blew up when CC balked at his raise request, and corporate ordered him fired today about 1:45 p.m. Then they erased all references to him on the website, and Tracy Jones and Darryl Parks mourned his passing on the show at 3 p.m One person tells me: “I know how it happend and why. Pretty cold!” Another person tells me: “People here who usually hem & haw when asked if something is really a stunt are saying straight-faced that no, this is real.” Said another knowledgeable person: “He tried to negotiate the terms of his new contract, and they decided to make an example of him.” That’s why they would fire a guy from a top-rated show. http://cincinnati.com/blogs/tv/2010/10/07/why-did-wlw-am-cut-off-its-fingers/
October 8, 201016 yr I guess their not lying when they say "Willie got all the money". With the way Tracy offends listeners this can't be good for the ratings?
October 8, 201016 yr The radio business is brutal, just look at how many times Howard Stern has been hired/fired on terrestrial.
October 8, 201016 yr CC has it's finger so far from the pulse of its market that its almost laughable. I guess if you have enough money to own the airways, and there aren't really any other companies to threaten you, then you can do what you please. CC is to radio what Mike Brown is to football. The only show in town, but it sure is a crappy show to watch.

The only show in town, but it sure is a crappy show to watch. I was a fan of the show when BOTH were on. When one was on vacation I didn't listen. No chance I listen now with Parks on there. I can't imagine what CC was thinking on this one unless ol' Eddie just did something that left them no choice.
October 12, 201016 yr I can't imagine what CC was thinking on this one unless ol' Eddie just did something that left them no choice. Just CC Corporate doing what they do best. Eddie wanted his 3rd year option picked up and the always bright folks in San Antonio wanted to make an example out of him for not taking a pay cut. CC is ruining radio one show at a time...

Shocking. I can't imagine the revenue lost to the inevitable ratings loss will be less than his salary savings.
