im wondering why dressman is still in game at 55-7 i thought cch didnt run up the score on teams

The one's did play the first series of the 2nd half. After that, Dressman was certainly not playing quarterback or doing PATs (that was Way and Kathman). He was only in for kickoff when the score was 55-7. I would assume it was to get some more practice in with only 4 days til a big game and after he had been taking it easy due to an injury.

Everyone must remember that Dressman and most of the CovCath's one's have not played in over two weeks.

But still, why is he running 2 and 37 yard td's when the game is already 48-7 and 55-7 IMO that's classless

Doesn't matter, you still don't keep your starters in the game in the 4th quarter when the game is that far gone...

You can try to defend it how you like, but there is no excuse for that

according to the scoring information at the beginning of the post the starters didnt come out until the 4th quarter

Please read past posts.

Dressman scores with 4:30 to go in 3rd quarter on there first series of the half.

Rensing, their 3rd back scores one the last play of the 3rd.

The TOG may know, were Bir and Pope out on the first drive of the second half.

No Dressman needed the work, I would only agree with you if he played into the 4th.

That is not how I read TOG's post. Nevertheless, I was there. As a parent of a "one", I pay particular attention to who is in when. C-Boy has it right. The first string does need the work for what some have called the biggest game of their season. They did not see the field at all against Lloyd and only have four days after Ryle until HHS. These guys need some "live" action. It had been 19 days since they played Dixie for a couple of quarters. That is a long time to sit the starters. Not something done by a team who runs up scores on people.

My bad, I did read the post wrong...

If these guys are this good why don't they use them at the JV level? It seems the kids aren't getting that much work, the only way you get better is by playing.

Why didn't they play against Lloyd? It seems like, no matter what the competition, the first string should play at least one half. Not playing at all is unacceptable.

I will take a guess and say that it was agreed upon before they even scheduled the game. Lloyd is not in the same freshman league as CCH. They probably agreed to play just to get some work in with Lloyd saying they would only play if CCH did not play their ones. Nice way for CCH to get some of their other players some playing time. I am sure those players appreciated it greatly.

I believe there was some kind of agreement that Lloyd, having a very small team, would only play our 2's and 3's. I think that game was added on and perhaps they did not have to come at all. I am not sure but it did make for a long period of time without the first string hitting the field (19 days). I can't imagine what they Lloyd score would have been if our one's did play.

CovCath has had four straight excellent Freshman teams. When the current Seniors were Freshmen, they tied Highlands for the best record in their division (losing to HHS 7-6 on a last-second play). They didn't get to compete in the Freshman championship game that year because they lost a coin flip to Highlands. When this CCH Senior class played Highlands in JV as Sophmores, they blew Highlands out. The current Juniors also had an excellent Freshman team (again losing a close one with Highlands). This year's CCH Sophomores had a similar story - losing in OT to Highlands in the regular season and losing a close game with Highlands in the Freshman championship game.

Not to threadjack, but want to add that HHS JV saw extensive action the night before in the 61 - 0 win against CCH Varsity.
