So you are assuming that Holy Cross will beat Mayfield in the 3rd round?

If they don't I suppose the only plus for the Tigers is they get Mayfield at home.

Louisville Holy Cross may be in line to be the 2nd best class A team in the history of Kentucky Class A football (after Mayfield of course).

The good news is that they will get the chance to take that title from Mayfield (most likely) in the 3rd round.

I just don't know what to think at this point ..... heck ... they only give out one championship winner trophy ... now we need to figure out who should really get it.

I can just picture those words rolling off your tongue slick. How do you think Hazard fits into the picture?

I really like Beechwood's position in the playoffs and their home field advantage. I think this is one of those years the stars could line up and they could steal one but the 1A competitions looks stiff this year.

I think Holy Cross would have been the favorite over Beechwood even prior to tonight. Folks in NKy may disagree, but, I think, in other areas of the state, that would be the consensus. I think the BGP polls reflect as much...

Ha, ha! You know me too well!

Hazard = Pretty Freaking Good-I feel like they are the front runner out of that side of the bracket .. and will be a handful for anyone that they would face.

I, like yourself, like the way that the bracket shakes out. I think it actually helps Beechwood the most IF Mayfield has to go to LHC and play (and win) then has to come to the Fort the next week. That would mean something like 16 to 18 hours of travel for Mayfield in a one week period.

LHC probably plays into Beechwoods strengths a little better than Mayfield at this point ... but heck .... I won't know that for sure until some time tomorrow.

As far as Beechwood goes .... I think people need to keep assuming that they are down .... ....

People seem to believe in the "great demise" theory ... so lets let them enjoy it for a while longer.

But heck 'Ru .. .not sure I want to see your inbox after the Mayfield fans realize that your thread title implies that they lose to LHC!

You're exactly right, home field advantage could play a big factor and Hazard will certainly have a big say in the overall scope of things. I also wouldn't count LCA and Frankfort out just yet either. But, if I were a betting man, I'd say Mayfield, HCross and Hazard are a little better than any of the other 1a contenders.

Pretty easy to realize that you haven't seen all the "contenders" yet (or recently).

You know I love me some quickslick...

And I have broke bread with some Cardinal fans, we are good!

You're correct, but, like most others, about the only thing you have to go on is what they've done thus far, common opponents, and what is returning from last year and how they fared. Have you seen them all, quick? I'd be curious to know what other teams besides the 6 I've mentioned you would consider a contender?

LHC is a very good team. And everyone knows I have been bragging on them. Just because I feel they are the team this year that has been under the radar. There is one every year. But to favor them over THE Beechwood!!! I don't know!! But I do think it would be one of the best games of the year in 1A. Both have very good teams. One has played a very good schedule and the other has played an even tougher one. So both will know what would be coming at them. Both have great coaching! Both would be mentaly ready for each other! Even though I believe in this LHC team from just reading and checking stats and strength of schedule. I can't take them to be better then Beechwood till they beat Beechwood. But I do feel this year they may be just as good!!! Would be a SUPER BOWL type game!!!

I agree with LHC being favored over Beechwood.

There is no plus in drawing Mayfield anywhere.
