September 26, 201015 yr Lack of talent, true, but what about the preparation and in-game adjustments? I was sorely disappointed in the Cats' lack of competitiveness. UF went ad nauseum with the short pass over the middle. UK had no answer. The freshman QB who scored all the TDs? What did UK think UF was going to do when they put him in a running formation near the goal...especially after he had already scored a couple? Cobb was jawing too much. I don't think the Cats are as bad as they showed. I sure hope not. I lay a good portion of the blame on the coaches---both pre-game abd in-game.

I saw at least a half-dozen plays that went for big gains against the Akrons of the world that were stopped for no gain against UF. False sense of security ... They could've played the first three games against Alabama, Ohio State and Boise State or they could've played the first three games against Boyle County, Highlands and Hoover (Ala.) and it would not have mattered... There was no "shock" of playing a talented team - Florida is simply more talented, bigger, stronger and faster and there is no preparation for that. There's a big difference when the entire roster consists of 4 and 5 star players and when the roster consists of 0-3 star players.
September 26, 201015 yr Maybe teams take UK more seriously than Miami of Ohio or JState? I think Florida, UT and Ole Miss will have much more focus going into a game against UK, especially with UK's recent track record of knocking off a team or two every year that they're not suppose to beat. I think there's some validity to that statement, but that doesn't explain it all. I'm a little in between you and Scribe.

A national audience sees UK in a bowl game at the end of the year too. What looks better to 18 year old kids? 1-3? 3-1? These kids want to win. Right now UK football is winning more often than not. If they want to be on national TV every week they can go to UF, OSU, USC, UT, etc. Oh wait, those schools only have so many openings.

They'd probably be 2-2 and much better prepared for tough road trips in conference. You guys keep acting as though one tough game in the non-conference schedule will scuttle an entire season, and that's just simply overreacting.
