Is this the year Highlands gets beat in the finals?

Featured Replies

I would say about 99% of the state hopes they get beat, I know I do!

We know that. Just makes the kid and coaches work that much harder and makes every win just that more enjoyable for the fans. Keep the "hoping we lose" coming; we actually feed on it, as it makes us just that much better :D

Ditto, except the 99% number may be a little low. Probably more like 99.9%.

As a casual college and pro football fan I can respect that. For a lot of fans who either don't support any particular team or support a team not winning a lot of titles, it makes sense to root for the other team when they are playing the defending champion.

I realize that some are rooting for BG (or any team besides Highlands) to win it because they dislike Highlands, but I'm sure there are plenty of folks in KY who would like to see a different team win it all this year, not because they dislike HHS but because they'd like to see some variety.

Heck, every year I hope Trinity gets beat in the finals, but not because I dislike their program. I actually have a significant amount of respect for Trinity football. I just want them to slow down the rate of their state title accumulation!!!!

Thank you!!

Highlands will not lose in the state finals.

Thank you!!!!

People have not been very nice on these threads this yr. Calling teams, coaches and players out. I did hear some guys talking last nite in the stands at the CovCath vs NCC game and one of them called the matchup a "Pillow Fight". I turned around to see who they were but did not recogonize them. I did give them a look though because I think it was quit insulting to describe kids giving it their all. Maybe everyone needs to realize that these are just kids and they are not dropping balls on purpose, nor fumbling balls on purpose, and throwing int's on purpose or missing tackles and ultimately losing on purpose. If kids were doing this stuff on purpose then I would become a betting man. Look in the mirrors people. Go Birds 20n10
