Try this. You have to purchase the Rule Book, you can not view it online unless you are a member. If you purchase the rule book, I would recommend getting the Case Book and Hand Book as well.

I never really doubted the Connelly catch, especially since a ref was right there looking at it. The play that I still have big doubts about is the fumble by Nussbaum after the pass reception around the 35 yard line. Number one, it looked like forward momentum was stopped and I believe that is a rule in high school also - that once forward momentum is stopped that ends the play. Second, it looked like he was down when the ball came out. We probably would need video to determine both of those issues and whether it was a fumble. The side judge on that side of the field (Beechwood side) was not good on these plays. There was a pass play in the game right in front of him that the Beechwood receiver clearly dropped as he was falling forward to catch it and he was going to call it a reception. Even the Beechwood fans were looking at each other sheepishly and saying no way that was a catch. Fortunately, in the interest of fairness that is, the line judge came out and over ruled the side judge. This was the same side judge involved in the Nussbaum call.
