I thought the stadium seated 7500...I was at both games and thought it was more crowded for the x game

 

Nope, the stadium only seats a total of 4,800. This breaks down approximately to 3,500 on the home side and 1,300 on the visitors side. That is why I was wondering about how many tickets can be sold before it is called a "sellout".

I believe that as many as 10,000 have been sold. I forget the game. Regardless, even at 8,500, every one of them had a great view of the field.

Au contraire, the view is not so great (or for that case even existent) when you are a short person lined up behind a taller person while standing non-tiered around a fence. :lol:

 

Once again, I am inquiring about what constitutes a "sellout" at a high school game, whether it is at Trinity or anywhere else? It seems from the numbers quoted here that it has very little to do with seating capacity. However, I would think that there is some legal or insurance limit for how many people you can pack into a restricted area. :confused:

I don't know what the limit is, perhaps 8500 since that number has been mentioned the last 2 weeks, but I understand that ticket sales are stopped at a certain number. This may be a fire marshal rule or other official agency rule. If that helps to explain.

Thanks! I would think that there would be some kind of code covering this. What I still do not understand is how the maximum number is derived?

I don't think you can sell out a high school football game. I'll bet there were 2,000 kids behind the stadium when I went for a potty break last night. Why would you stop selling when many of the kids never see a play of the game anyway.

Fire Marshall would have a lot to say about it.

The fire Marshall I believe stops them at 10,000. This is what I remember from them saying when talking to us about the stadium while I was playing soccer there.

I have a question for some of the Trinity fans. I know you guys have a great football team every year and can seemingly beat anyone most of the time. My question is this after reading this thread, why all the posts about the young players and their inexperiance. Seems like only a couple or three years ago that you guys never had that problem you always just reload and move on the next year. What has changed this year?

Talent levels rise and fall. There are some very fine football players in this years senior class, but the overall talent level of this years seniors is well below what we have seen from most classes. The sophomores and juniors are just the opposite. They are way above average in talent. That has lead to a lot of underclassmen starting this year. With that said, the chemistry on the field looks good. The seniors seem ready to lead and hungry, the young guys are playing well and learning. We'll be fine by the end of the year.
