Hempel and Sexton have to be the early favorites to win 9th Player of Year.

Lauman and Teegarden from Boone

Josh Bertke from Beechwood should be solid.

No, Smallwood was Player of Year.

Beechwood is going to have a nice team with several top players. Bertke as mentioned above. Larimore will be back this year and is totally focused on baseball. Cottingham will be one of the top catchers.

I would give Teegarden the best chance for POY, if his pitching arm is healthy the full season. I heard mixed reports during the summer about an arm injury but hopefully he is okay.

Sexton and Hempel will be hard to beat out. Hempel was leading hitter in NKY last season and I'd be surprised if doesn't repeat that next season and add a bit more power to his numbers also. Sexton is not only a very good hitter, but will be one of the top pitchers next year. Not implying Teegarden is not an extremely nice ballplayer - he is - but I think those two would easily be the leading candidates going into the season.

 

Another fine ballplayer not yet mentioned is Thompson from Cooper. Solid hitter, pitcher, and fielder.

Look for junior, Kevin Peddicord from St Henry to perform really well over the next couple of years!!

What about Travis Jones from Newport?
