Excellent win on the road for Somerset. The season is young, but they look poised to make a deep playoff run.

What will Danville look like over the next few years???

They will be good, the quaterback is a sophmore and alot of good young talent coming up. I think they just ran into a good agressive defense with Somerset and they just didn't respond well. They definately need to work on offensive play execution. The O-line has to play better and the quaterback needs to really speed up his play execution. I noticed in the prior three games it was taking too long for plays to be executed, and Somerset made them pay. Every one in Admiral land don't get nervous yet, the ADS will be fine, the Somerset game was a good experience and help them work on thier weaknesses.:thumb:

I knew Danville was much improved on defense but didn't think they had what it took to knock off Somerset. I saw a few games last season that Danville played and the defense was pitiful. I am glad they are headed in the right direction but knew this wasn't a one year fix. So as I see it now, the Class 2A is wide open for several teams. Will be interesting later in the year to see some of the districts and how they turn out and possible playoff matchups.

It's not time to jump ship on Danville. There is a lot of football remaining. This game would've been much closer if Danville would've held on to the ball. A team won't win many games when they fumble 5+ times in one game.

It wasn't like Danville was mishandling snaps and handoffs. They were getting seperated from the ball by some shots from the Somerset defenders. It looked like the Admiral ballcarriers simply weren't used to getting hit like they did Friday night--and with their speed they probably weren't. It is something that they can fix, I wouldn't want to be an Admiral back or receiver in practice this week. I'd say they will be lots of ball security drills, which are never pleasant.

This has been a problem for Danville in past years, Last week when I gave my score on the game I said "IF" they HOLD ON TO THE BALL" and stay agressive on defense they would win. Though they they probably wouldn't have won, it could have been much closer.
