Give me more than one example over the past 2 months. He's been lights out for a while now. He blow's one save and you people are all over him.

 

I don't care how hot he's been lately, he scares the hell out of me. Especially in a playoff series, when teams won't let him off the hook the way the other teams do during his regular-season high-wire act of leadoff walks and singles. I would prefer Chapman be named the closer yesterday.

It was his first blown save in like two months and he hadn't pitched in 6 days. Give me a break.

Not really. He's got 2-3 weeks to get his act together. Plenty of time to figure out why he was successful the past two months. If he gets pulled from the closers role, he'll be in one of the setup roles. What's worse, blowing the lead in the 7th or 9th? Both are blowing leads...

He's the best suited guy to run out there.

How about Masset who has been just as bad at times?

The best option is a 22 year old kid who had all kinds of control problems earlier in the year. That's a great idea to run him out there only to get boo'd if he gives up a run with the game on the line.

No, he's really not. He puts far too many people on base and constantly pitches from behind. I'll rather see any of the three you mentioned in the 9th before Cordero. He's not the best choice for the job just because he's been doing it all season. Generally speaking he's done a pretty poor job all season long and still only has the role because Dusty is an idiot.

I don't care who other folks have at the back of their pens. I don't care what other stats guys have. I don't care what other situations are. I'm with you coop, when he comes in with the game in jeopardy, everyone in the stadium, including the toothpick I'd bet now, are reaching for their coins to flip to see which hitter he'll walk to start pending rally.
