August 18, 201016 yr Down 2-0 right out of the gate with none out. Whiffle ball pitcher serving em up today. Seriously. He looks awful. Someone send the bus back to the airport. The Reds are still there... It was 2-0 going into the top of the 2nd. If we can't score 2-3 runs in 8 innings against the DBacks...we don't deserve to be in a race to win the division.

I'm still trying to figure out why Gomes gets starts. He hasn't hit in well over a month and he's their 6th best fielder out there. It really makes no sense. Heisey has done nothing but earn more time with his play IMO and he is strapped to the bench.

August 18, 201016 yr The first 2 hitters hit rockets, and although the 3hole hitter made an out, he hit a foul ball rocket that killed a woman, 2 kids, beer vendor, and an usher. After that, Arroyo settled down and quit serving up breaking pitches with no downward trajectory.

I'm surprised he went away from the changeup after the 4th inning. Didn't seem to throw it as much and it was nasty. Arroyo settled down nicely. Votto continues to be a machine and Rolen with a big hit. Some good, aggressive base running as well. Good start to the road trip.

I honestly said to myself, "When is the last time the bullpen has had to go 5+?" Yes, he was getting shelled, but I didn't think Dusty would leave him in their to die.

He was lights out after that.
