Who wins and why? Lets be very critical...I would love to hear what everyone thinks!

Monroe is coming off their second straight Regional title with losing to the current state champions at semi-state. They return 8 starters on offense but only 4 on defense. The senior class is 22 strong with a new middle linebacker transfer from Friendship Christian Academy in Tn.. Wayne will not be able to stop the Falcons, the question is will we be able to stop them. With not much scouting on the Cardinals so far I was curious what everyone thought. This is always a great game with two good ball clubs. Monroe is the host this year for their opener so this gives them a little advantage.

I wasn't impressed with Wayne County at all during their scrimmage with Southwestern. I think Monroe blow them out 35-7.

Were you impressed with Southwestern?

Monroe coaches were out to the scrimmage with Southwestern last week, I know they scouted all of the Varsity action.

Wayne was able to get crazy penatration into the back field, only prob was many times by the time they looked up, the up back (FB) was already through the line running the other way. Wayne has some speed and at time caused a much larger SW problems.

 

Should be a good game but I know absolutley nothing about Monroe except that the coaches I met at Mr. Gattis before the scrimmage were very nice.

Going with the Falcons in this one.

Were you impressed with Southwestern?

 

Their defense looked good. The offense didn't have a great day but then they kept everything pretty basic like most teams do in scrimmages. They have a lot of talent and played a lot of kids.

Look for Monroe to win by 2 or more touchdowns. Monroe will have no trouble putting up points the big question will be how th defense holds up.

Monroe’s offense will be too much for Wayne to handle, however I wouldn't be surprised if the Falcon defense gave up some big plays. To be honest I hope the holes in the defense are exposed now as opposed to district time, there's never been a more important time to win the district than this year due to the home field advantage it would give...
