Knuckle
Had been hearing rumors about Clary being out for the last couple of weeks, but Martin being brought back in is a big surprise.
The Engineer
I don't know the particulars, but it's a real shame to see Clary out of there. He's a great guy who cares about his kids, and just as good of a baseball guy.

The Engineer
No, he wasn't involved in that incident at all....his only involvement was that the young man in question was transferring to his team. The emails and subsequent release of information didn't involve anyone in the Lexington Catholic program.
NKYThreeFer
Wow, this surprises me. In the times I talked to Coach Clary he seemed like a incredibly knowledgable coach, and the players seemed to love him. There has to be more to this story
westsider
Let's see ... Lexington Catholic won the state championship under Martin in 2009, then didn't get out of the district tournament under Claryb last spring. I'm guessing it's not a coincidence. The Engineer
Wrong. They won under Clary in 2009, his first year as head coach.

bluegrass
I think that personally Clary is a good guy. However, there had been way too much going on with kids joining his summer team and then transferring to Catholic and that does include the entire Henry Clay/Hammond incident. Situation was way too risky for Catholic IMO. I am surprised that they brought Martin back though. That is an interesting move.
Park1221
Shocking...sounds like this has been brewing for awhile given that Martin has already been named the new coach.
Knights2010
Shocking and undoubtedly planned...This has to be the shadiest baseball deal I have witnessed yet. Letting Clary go only hurts Catholic's program and the boys. Administration issued the black eye with bringing Martin back into the mix . Especially considering the reasons surrounding his "retirement." Clary will be scooped up by a neighboring program without question and rightly so. It's the kids and the program that will suffer at the President's hands.
The Engineer
Clary was becoming the face of Lexington Catholic baseball and it's a shame to see a program which he had helped bring to such prominence turn on him and reject him only to promote someone with such a rocky track record. I hope he catches on somewhere else, though it will be hard for him to see HIS team be coached by someone else.
Knights2010
Amen Engineer. Amen.. In all my years of being a Catholic supporter I am embarrassed to have been a part of this program, school, and that particular Parish.
