Let's say that the Reds sign Issy, and both he and Springer are called up in a couple of weeks. The Reds also have Harang and Bailey to come of the DL in the future, that's 4 pitchers you have to move off the major league roster, and two guys you have to move off the 40 man roster. What 4 pitchers are you going to take off the current ML roster? I honestly think Harang is good as gone. I read today that the Padres were looking for a starting pitcher to help protect their young pitchers from throwing so many innings this year. I think Harang is a perfect fit. He's from San Diego, and pitching in Petco would be a big plus to Aaron. Who else do you move? Ondrusek has pitched lights out since being called back up. I can see Jordan Smith being sent down. Do you send Wood down the way he's pitched? Let's hear it all you GMs out there.

In order to make room on the 40 man roster I think you have to take off Carlos Fisher and Daniel Ray Herrera

I don't think Harang will be pitching much longer with Cincinnati, so I'm not sure he'll need a place on the active roster. If he does find his way back on the roster I think Leake will be put on the DL for 15 days to limit his innings and give teams a quick look at Harang.

Jordan Smith hasn't pitched great in July so he'd likely be sent out.

I think if they were forced to open a spot Owings would be one of the odd men out.

The final spot, in my mind, comes down to Massett and Ondrusek. I assume Ondrusek still has options and even though he's been pitching great, I think he would be sent down. I don't think they want to chance losing Massett.

Bailey could be put in the long relief role if he was being added.

I smell a big trade coming for an outfielder.

Like many others I think Harang is just given away to someone for a few prospects.

Who is looking to trade away a big bat in the outfield? The Nats. :D

I think the Reds could use some help in the lineup but what OF position would you sit down if said trade was made?

I would think you would have to trade one of them if you were to do that and none of them would make any sense.

Give Jay Bruce fewer ABs. The rest would do him good.

I just wouldn't mess with the chemistry of this team much. I honestly believe that's a big reason for their success this season.

I would think that Micah Owings would have a some value on the trade market. Not a lot, but surely some team desperate for pitching would take him off the Reds hands for a low level prospect.

That 5.40 ERA should be real appealing to the market.

I'm smelling Brewers maybe and Corey Hart...........

Maybe DeJesus from the Royals. He has around a .370 on-base percentage I think. Sounds like a good 2 hole hitter and just move Cabrera down. We need guys on base for Votto, Rolen, and Gomes because those are the only players I have faith in going up to the plate with runners on base.

Good God! Just give the Reds the pennent if they can somehow sign him and send Bruce to the Brew Crew!

Phillies would also part with Werth. Let's just hope something happens besides signing old players (Mathews Jr, Springer). I think we will see Mathews called up on Saturday more than likely, and Heisey will be sent down. Heisey would benefit more by getting at bats every day anyway.
