Some of us feel like YELLING because even though there was a finding against King Samir Shabazz, it is nowhere near what it should be against any person of any color, affiliation or motivation for doing exactly what Samir and his pals did in 2008.

 

The following is a summary of research I have performed on this matter. It is derived from several sources and with the exception of Bartle Bull's quotes, in my own words. There are numerous sources documenting these facts and timeline. Feel free to prove me wrong...

 

In the final days of the Bush administration, the New Black Panthers and three members were charged in a civil complaint with violating the Voter Rights Act. Shabazz, was specifically accused of flaunting a weapon. The Obama administration won a default judgment in federal court in April 2009 when the defendants didn't appear to fight the charges. The administration then moved to dismiss the charges in May 2009. The criminal complaint against Shabazz, resulting in the injunction, proceeded to completion. The original injunction however; states that Samir Shabazz cannot appear at a polling station anywhere, but this ruling was downgraded at the request of the Obama DoJ to not appearing at a polling station in Philadelphia until after 2012… a slap on the hand.

 

Many have seen the video, but few have read the testimony of one very credible witness, Bartle Bull, champion of the Civil Rights movement in the 1960s. He was an official poll watcher at that very poll on the day Shabazz and his pals did their thing.

 

The following is are excerpts from Mr. Bull’s sworn affidavit regarding the two men seen in the video:

 

“In all my experience in politics, in civil rights litigation, and in my efforts in the 1960′s to secure the right to vote in Mississippi through participation with civil rights leaders and the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights Under Law, I have never encountered or heard of another instance in the United States where armed and uniformed men blocked the entrance to a polling location. Their clear purpose was to intimidate voters with whom they did not agree.”

 

“…I heard the shorter man make a statement directed towards white poll observers that ‘You are about to be ruled by the black man, cracker.’”

 

“I considered their presence to be a racially motivated effort to intimidate poll watchers aiding voters, as well as voters with whom the men did not agree.”

 

These statements are from a civil rights attorney who worked on the campaigns of Robert F. Kennedy and Jimmy Carter. Mr. Bull’s affidavit was dated April 7, 2009–about three months after the President’s inauguration… and was never filed by the Obama DOJ… therefore; the court never saw it.

 

This is not some Right-Wing conspiracy… but clear and compelling evidence that racism and discrimination are not only alive and well in 2010 America, but are actually being supported by those we have elected to ensure “freedom and justice for all.”

I don't want to jeopardize your card carrying status, but I again offer the following quotes from Bartle Bull’s sworn affidavit regarding the two men seen in the video and Samir Shabazz specifically. I believe his words indicate you are wrong:
