July 1, 201016 yr Well here we are, almost at the half way point in baseball and the trade deadline is just 30 days away. Some of the top questions surrounding this deadline: 1. Where will Cliff Lee land? 2. Will the Brewers unload Hart and/or Fielder? 3. Will the Dbacks trade Haren? 4. Will Zambrano remain a member of the Cubs? 5. Will the Red Sox add infield help? Some trade rumor team updates: * Braves are looking to trade for Jose Bautista or Cory Hart. * Phillies and Cardinals interested in Haren * Mets and Rangers want Lee
July 1, 201016 yr There was talk of the White Sox maybe going after Fielder or Dunn with their recent hot streak, put either one at DH. BUT the Sox go out and lose 2 out of 3 to Kansas City, so who knows if they will be buyers or sellers at the deadline. I can imagine a lot of teams would happily take Konerko off their hands for the stretch run.
July 6, 201016 yr Author Seems like the Mariners could be getting close to dealing Lee. Twins are seeming to be one of the frontrunners along with the Rays. Not much else going on on the trade front.
July 6, 201016 yr Would love to see the Braves get involved for Lee as it would make their pitching staff extremely formidable with Lee, Hudson, Lowe, and Hanson. However, I'm unsure whether or not the organization wants to get rid of some of their top prospects.

However, I'm unsure whether or not the organization wants to get rid of some of their top prospects. I'm a huge Braves fan BUT I do not believe that pitching is one of their needs. Braves have a rotation of: Lowe, Hudson, Hanson, Jurrjens, Medlen, Kawakami. In the minors the Braves have top prospects in Mike Minor, Freddie Freeman, and Arodys Vizcaino. Braves are looking to add a big right handed bat. They want Bautista, or Hart. With McClouth, Heyward on the DL and Melky seriously struggling the Braves OF is really thin. I look for the Braves to make a move quicker if they start to slump but if they keep going they may hold out just a bit.
July 7, 201016 yr If the Cardinals are interested in Haren, I think that the Reds have to pursue him a bit. The Cards actually have less payroll flexibility than the Reds.
July 7, 201016 yr That'd be funny to me if the Braves picked up Cory Hart. Hart of course played at Greenwood High School here in Bowling Green. I was no fan of him when he was here, but I have cheered for him since. It'd be neat to have him on my favorite team.

I'm just one of those guys that thinks you can never have enough pitching and I would just feel a bit more comfortable with a really solid starter. However, I do agree an OF is needed right now with our current injuries. We've been able to make do so far so hopefully that will continue until we get some of our starters off the DL. Heyward is prepping to make it back right now so thats a good sign.
July 8, 201016 yr It sounds like the Reds would be willing to part with Alonso or Juan Francisco to acquire Cliff Lee.
July 8, 201016 yr It sounds like the Reds would be willing to part with Alonso or Juan Francisco to acquire Cliff Lee. Reds mentioned attached to Haren any? I would just as much like to have him as Lee. Lee is better but Haren's contract length is much more favorable.
July 8, 201016 yr Author Seems like rumors are starting to swirl about a Cory Hart for Mike Minor trade for the Braves. I think I'd like this trade, Braves are in a "win now" approach with it being Bobby Cox's last year and possibly Chipper's as well.
July 9, 201016 yr Yanks are close to acquiring Cliff Lee from the M's. Interestingly enough, Lee is scheduled to pitch against the Yanks tonight........
July 9, 201016 yr Author Yanks are close to acquiring Cliff Lee from the M's. Interestingly enough, Lee is scheduled to pitch against the Yanks tonight........ Yankees haven given the Mariners a deadline to accept their offer. They must accept before he pitches against them tonight.
July 9, 201016 yr Author Yanks always spoil the fun. :irked: Because they are willing to offer more than other teams? If other another team wanted him that bad, Reds for example, then they should pay to get him. Not the Yankees fault when they trade for players.
