June 30, 201016 yr Some facts: -Benson told police when the incident happened that they had his full cooperation in the incident, then he didn't hear from them until yesterday when charges were filed, a month later. -Benson immediately made both the Bengals organization and the NFL offices aware of the incident as soon as he was contacted yesterday. He told them the incident did not happen the way it is being portrayed. -Benson claims he was actually the victim and the one who was assualted, not the bar employee. Now, whether any of this is true or not, who knows, but those were the facts reported by Schefter last night that everyone is ignoring. Ignoring and believing are two different things.
June 30, 201016 yr Ignoring and believing are two different things. You're right they are, but when an entire thread is devoted to the topic and it gets not a single mention, common sense tell you that's ignoring it, not just not believing it.
June 30, 201016 yr Sure you can. They were reported by Schefter as facts. Unless it's on the police report that Benson was assaulted first, Schefter is misrepresenting the truth by calling them "facts." Facts are what actually happened. Not somebody's version of contentious events, and especially if that someone is directly involved.
