June 22, 201016 yr Was Morton playing with LC? Is he the good shooting guard? We play Lafayette today so I will ask and see if he played. Edited June 22, 201016 yr by gold sunrise
June 22, 201016 yr As with years past, Coach Bezold will put a strong, very competitive team on the court no matter who is on the roster. I look forward to hearing who Coach Bez will be bringing in for not only this year, but for future years because, as I posted several days ago, NKU has been awarded the great opportunity to host the NCAA DII Men's Basketball Elite Eight tournament in 2012 and 2013.
June 22, 201016 yr Ferg would be a perfect fit in the dribble drive by getting the ball kicked out to him for wide open shots which he will nail! He would be great in 3-4 minute spurts getting off 2-3 shots and letting things spread out a little so he and others could get down to the corners for what the offense is actually intended for. We didn't see the real dribble drive this year because of personnel, but to answer the question I take Ferg over Paulson!
June 22, 201016 yr It seems like another NKU thread has been hijacked with talks of Jonathon Ferguson. He isn't coming here so why continue to bring him and NKU up in the same conversation? There is a thread about him so why not talk the talk about him there?

I spoke with Bezhold at NKU Team Camp and he indicated they were meeting with a number of Division I players who were interested in getting some more playing time and competing for a title. He would not share names but seemed excited about the prospects.
June 24, 201016 yr Based on past years its still a bit early for NKU to finalize their roster. Most D2 schools don't start ramping up the recruiting process unitl July. NKU is now one of those "destination" schools for the D1 transfers. D2 recruiting is now more of a waiting game to see who doesn't get the D1 offer and to see who is looking to transfer back. These things really to start to shake out in July and August. I have heard that NKU is looking at Timmy Knipp from Elliott County, Jaylen Daniels from GRC, Jake Giesler NewCath and Kellen Smith Scott HS as "true" freshmen recruits.
June 24, 201016 yr They should look at Stenzel too. I don't know if he is getting any D1 looks though if so he would probablly be more likely go that route. Those players look like some good players to have on NKU's roster though.

There is a thread about him so why not talk the talk about him there? Thank you statman. Never understood all this talk about a guy who has never played a minute of college and been off a year. As for NKU, have you heard anything on their schedule? I heard there is a possibility they may/will play West Liberty (Corey Pelle of Silver Grove) in a Christmas tourney.

June 25, 201016 yr Well excuse me! Nobody is trying to step on your threads toes here but Ferg had listed as possible destinations: NKU, KWU and Marshall so until he or a credible source (Wireman) states he has ruled out a school it seems he is very much in the NKU discussion. Now with that being said has Bezold ever stated to any of you Ferg is out of his equation? If he has by all means share it with the rest of us if you feel comfortable doing so. I would hope the Elliott county boys might read some of these statements and pick up on the disdain some of you have for them. Could make some of their decisions a little more simplified.
June 25, 201016 yr It's not that we don't want him to come to NKU or anything...it would just be nice if this thread wasn't completely threadjacked about him...that's all.
June 25, 201016 yr My take on Bezold in the two times I've spoken with him he is a pretty straight shooter, meaning if you ask he will tell you what you want to know. He voluntarily told me he gave schlorship offers to both Faulkners and Ferg right out of high school but only got one, point is I don't understand how you all who claim to be in the know up there can't get any information out of the man. Seems if a total stranger could get that kinda straight out of the horse's mouth knowledge you all could confirm once and for all if Ferg is out of the NKU "landscape" for 10-11!

June 25, 201016 yr With respect to Coach Bezold or the basketball program, I am not at liberty to discuss why or why not a potential player is or isn't going to be on the roster. All I will say is that it has been written in the local paper Ferguson will not be at NKU and as far as the "credible" sources you are looking for, I think Richard Skinner, who is an established reporter, of the Cincinnati Enquirer has more credibility than an internet blogger. Here is a link for you to enjoy. http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20100618/SPT01/6180367/1062/spt&template=wapart
