Is there ever going to be an iPhone application for bluegrasspreps? Kind of like the facebook app maybe where when you leave a comment you can get a notification so you can respond. I was just wondering and I am sure I already know the answer but I figured I'd throw it out there anyways. I know quite a few people on here have iPhones, iTouchs and iPads and speaking for myself I'd love a bluegrasspreps apps so I can stay on top of my debates all day long. Is it possible in the future?

I would love to have that App.

If we were having something like that, my #1 wish would be a mobile version of BGP. That would be awesome!

Maybe. I got my macbook, just to start writing apps for the iPhone and iPad. The development software I'm looking at, lets me port any app I come up with for the iPhone, to Droid, too. How much you willing to pay?

To be honest, I paid 9.99 for the March Madness App which ended up being a total rip off. I love BGP so much that I would most likely pay whatever the fee is. I spend a lot of time on BGP on my iPhone but if there was an app for bgp in a similar vein as the facebook app, I'd definitely have it regardless of price. I am sure you guys would be reasonable.

Why not just use the browser?

Only once have I paid over $2.99 for an app and that was for the MLB At Bat which offers radio broadcasts of every MLB game. I feel something around that price would be reasonable.

^Same here, only mine was the World Cup app which allows me to listen live to every match from work....I paid $7.99 for that, but probably wouldn't pay more than a couple bucks for the BGP app. After all, we are already paying $20 here.

A mobile version would be a much better option IMO. I have a plam pre and I can get on BGP on it but it's kind of a pain and it doesn't work 100% like the normal site. Don't leave everyone else out that doesn't have an Iphone. :lol:

A bgp app would make it mobile user friendly like the facebook or twitter apps. Especially with notifications on threads you are involved in. If I was at home and not on my phone I'd tell you more. I have already spent 8 minutes trying to type this post plus 1 minute to get my smilie up on here.:lol:

Are you using an iPhone or a Mac "Wheel"? I can type faster than that on my Blackberry Storm and everybody knows how hard it is to type on that brick. :banana:

I'm using an iPhone. What gets me is the comment box moving as my sentences get longer. The iPhone keypad is not fat finger approved so I always have to go back and correct my typos. If the comment box didn't move like in the facebook app and I could see my whole post as I type it would be much better but since it is on the browser, the comment box moves, as it should. BGP would be much easier to navigate through on my iPhone if there was an app or mobile site for it as well. Not that it matters. Slow or not, I'll still be on here whether on my phone or at home a decent percentage of my day.:ylsuper:

Rat is kidding about paying.

 

I retire from my full time job in a few months and making BGP more mobile friendly is on the agenda. So when the time comes we will be asking for feedback.
