"FranktheTank"
Shoot. I thought this would be fairly easy for some of you. Here's a clue. He was "Dead" before he was dead. Jerry Garcia???
5wide
Jerry Garcia??? :thumb: That's one that I did know. He played with David Grisman, I believe. They actually made a children's album. I've meant to purchase that for some time and never have got around to it.

dolamite
Since nobody has posted another question I have a rather easy one. It is a three parter though. What event was Jimi Hendrix's debut in America, what act did he follow (caused a big mess because neither wanted to follow the other to close the event), and who announced him onto the stage? Mack The Knife
The event was Monterey Pop Festival, the act was The Who, and my guess at the presenter was John Phillips.

dolamite
The person who announced Hendrix to his fellow countrymen had a British flavor to him. This person also did not perform at the festival, but was there to enjoy the acts.

dolamite
Mick Jagger Your real close. If we were playing hot and cold you would be steaming right now. Let's just say this guy isn't alive anymore and hasn't been for a while.

Mack The Knife
Sticking with the Monterey Pop theme, what record mogul co-founded the festival with John Phillips and what is his current claim to fame?

I'm assuming you're talking about Adler, but I didn't know he was even still alive to have any current claims to fame.

He's the gentleman in the hat and glasses that's been sitting next to Jack at Lakers games for the past 25 years or so.
