I think it is more realistic this year than most. Although I doubt it will happen because Pikeville will be prepared. Good luck to Pikeville, hopefully it will be a US 23 battle for the title.

Obviously they aren't top dog this year. I don't know who is yet, but they got drubbed by Hazard. And what does Hazard do? Pass. Somerset? Pass. If Pikeville defends the Somerset passing game enough to win, I will give credit where credit is due.

This year, Somerset has managed to avoid injury, turning the ball over excessively, shooting themselves in the foot, and giving up. These are the things that hampered them in each of the past 3 years. Last year the defense was terrible too. Guess what? This isn't the years past. In years past, Pikeville has dominated this area and this region. They didn't this year. And back to Somerset, as long as they keep doing what they need to do, I don't think anyone has any more to boast about, hence all of my blunt comments. When I discuss things on here I try to pick out good and bad things that can affect games. When I see no respect for this Somerset team that deserves it, it gets a little heated. Posts 9, 26, 28, 29, and 30 are what I'm talking about. This isn't about last year, two years ago. Paintsville deserves credit, and so does Somerset.

Somerset pulling starters in hilarious...Somerset is new to the region...they are still learning who is the top dog in the region. :ylsuper:

I don't know about who is top dog this year. Also Pikeville might have always been the big dog in this region but I promise you that they wouldn't even have been close to top dog in the region Somerset was in before they came to the mountain region. If Somerset was in the region then, you may have a new view of who is the "top dog". But I will give Pikeville credit they are very good but I am about tired of the boastfulness and cockiness displayed by some of the Pikeville posters.

I agree with all that. I guess it's all in good spirit though, Chief. There's one thing that is 100% for sure, and that is the madness is about to begin, and a lot of questions will be answered. I wish all teams the best of luck, and hope that everyone makes it to the second round or "home" with no injuries.

I know if Pikeville wins it will be a slight upset, but I expect them to play a good game. I believe there is some cockiness on each side, if you choose to see it only one way then by all means go ahead, but I haven't heard any Pikeville posters saying that Pikeville will be pulling starters. As far as the past had Somerset been in Region 4, they would have some titles no doubt, who would have more between the two we will never know but I know are opinions aren't the same. Somerset has a cakewalk coming up this Friday, and Pikeville has a big game this upcoming week with Harlan so this will be the last time I will mention Somerset until Friday, when hopefully it is in a Somerset-Pikeville prediction thread...until then I hope you guys have a injury free game against Phelps.

Don't take that comment about District 7 teams to heart, I was just simply saying if Paintsville is an average team at best according to Legaer then so is Hazard and Pikeville as they finished in a tie.

I was agreeing with you.

You may want to quit reading their posts then, because it will only continue. Of all the things I believe to be be true, this is one for sure.

I was agreeing with you.

Also Somerset will have to be 1000% improved from the team that Pikeville spanked 37-7 last year with the dogs called off early and subs playing most of the 2nd half.

There is no comparision to this years Somerset team and last years. They are much much better.

Both teams posters on here seem to be a little cocky, but that is what happens when two dominent class A teams hook up. Good luck to both teams this Friday night and let the best team win.

This is true. I haven't been necessarily so pro-Somerset on the message boards, because when it has come to Pikeville, dominant or "top-dog" aren't the words I would use to describe Somerset. What would be perceived as my cockiness are my posts concerning years past. Pikeville has been good in many years past, and so has Somerset, and unfortunately, Somerset hasn't fared too well against Pikeville the past two years. I feel like this is the year that Somerset will win. Huffman and Robinson are two names we know quite well in this area, and don't think for a minute that Somerset doesn't know that Pikeville won't bring it's A-game. I look for Somerset to come out in this game fired up with a vengeance from those years past, and hungry to advance on their quest for the prize. I hope everyone stays injury-free and has a good week to make this game what everyone is waiting for. Go Jumpers!

Im taking LYNN CAMP they have too much determination.

I really want to see a Lynn Camp v. Somerset rematch for the region. We have a very big game with a great Pikeville football team first though, and Lynn Camp must slow down Daniel Pugh and a very good Paintsville team. Good luck to Lynn Camp, and I hope we both make it.
