I thought she was in her 80's FB?

So much for everyone being entitled to their own opinion.

She may be... she's been covering the White House since 1960.

You may need to elaborate a bit here... what's your point?

She stated her opinion and the paper stated theirs. She "resigned". The media is a very powerful group. As a reporter you had better be working for a company that supports your viewpoint if you are going to spout your opinion.

So anti-Semitism is a valid POV that should be supported by a newspaper or magazine?

What if she'd said, "All Blacks need to go back to Africa?"

I love older people. I am one. Burt sometimes the word "retire" really means something. "you Jews need to go back to Germany/Poland". Thats what I got out of her comment.

The problem with Isreal is that it is defined as a Jewish state-hence your comment. I am pro-Isreal. Just because some don't support the creation of the nation of Isreal doesn't make them an anti-semite. That is a huge leap. No other country in the world besides Isreal is defined solely by their religous heritage.

Actually the news reported that she is 89 years old.

As an American I fully support her right to express her viewpoint.

I also fully support an employer firing an employer that does something that that they deem inappropriate.

She should go. Should've retired 10 yrs ago.

Okay... okay... what I said was...

...50-year White House correspondent Helen Thomas said...
...50-year not 50-year-old...

I thought she was in her 80's FB?

And 89 still qualifies as "in her 80s"... barely, I'll admit, but legally, technically in her 80s...

Her pro-Palestinian stance is no surprise. What is more newsworthy is her "retirement".
