it might be nice that someone on here talks about the team that won the sectional and the regional tourney. All year long all i hear about is Cov Cath and Dixie and Beechwood and Ryle. it is pretty evident that Boone has the best players, best team and best lineup. Cotton has the best numbers of just about any senior in Northern Ky, Laumann the best numbers of just about any Junior and Teegarden may be one of top Sophomores in the state.. Lets finally give some credit to the team that won and quit making excuses for the ones that lost....

 

And TOG said, feel free to post about Boone all you want. BGP allows "pro-Boone" posters, so don't be shy. And there have been plenty of "non-Boone" people speak positively about your team - I know for a fact because I am one of them. As usually happens during playoff time, the team that is hot and playing the best baseball wins region. That doesn't necessarily mean they have the best players, best lineup, or are even the best team. Boone is certainly the team playing the best right now. Not sure about the other statements. No question they have a lot of talent, but hardly think it's a no-brainer that they have the most overall talent of any team in the 9th.

 

That all being said, the very best of luck to Boone. Hope you bring back a state championship!

Ask them. But you won't find too many that know the game of baseball who will disagree that CCH was the best.

One was hurt most of the season and one just sucks.

I will debate that I know quite a bit more about baseball than you. Probably have forgot more than you know. CCH was not even in the top 4 teams. Actually other than the fact that they are very well schooled and coached their talent was way down. They were not very good at all.

There is no doubt that CCH had the best team in the 9th last year and the year before(I'm not refering to present year since I thought they were about the 4th or 5th best in the region). Best team doesn't always win, especially in a one and done situation. No wonder college and MLB play 3, 5, or 7 game series.

Using the same logic as was used above in naming Boone the best team in the region, wouldn't that make Cov Cath the 3rd or 4th best team in the region?????

The best team for 4 years straight was Cov Cath but they didn't win the region. Not taking anything away from Beechwood, Ryle or whoever won the regions those years but CCH was the best team. Just didn't win the region.

 

I don't think anyone on here would debate with you on the 2009 regional final, (although Beechwood had many talented players), 2008 might be debatable, but in 2007 the facts just don't support your opinion at all. Ryle's overall record was 34-7, CCH was 29-10. They played the same competition, even playing in some of the same tournaments both locally and down state. Ryle won the NKAC championship outright. The teams played each other three times during the regular season with Ryle winning 2 of the 3 games. While the first two were close, the last game Ryle won by a score of 7-0, also solidifying their overall regular season number one ranking in the NKY coaches poll. Oh, and the fourth meeting........... well they won that one too! Yes, any team can win a single game in a season, but that was not the case in 2007 and therefore the team that won the region was the best.
