The challenge with TMC is they bring in so many kids that you can get lost in the shuffle.

 

The good news is that the coach likes to run a lot of people in and out.

I agree,TMC will run alot and they do carry alot of players but for any young man that wants a chance to still play at the next level TMC is a great place to play and get a great education, Coach Rogers and his staff seem to be giving some local talent a chance to do this and hopefuly by doing this with some local talent they can put more people in the stands. Good luck to Ryan and the rest of the TMC players.

Went to Boone, but I was diasppointed he didn't finish the season with the 9th region semifinalists last year.

Agreed! Popp was recruited by them and other small schools starting last year. Good to see him end up at a local school.

 

Would like to see more Boone players get the opportunity to play college ball. Although I still think Gabbard will also end up playing somewhere, there was only one Boone graduate go on to college ball last year (McFarland), one the year before (Krohman), and none that I know of the two years before that.

This is true with many D3 and NAIA schools, but TMC does seem to play a lot of players, especially guards, due to their up-tempo, pressing style of play and dribble-drive offense.

Not sure about prior years but this year with the talent they had, there should have been a few more players getting scholarships. ie. Earls, Cotton, Gabbard and possibly Shultz (sp?)

I think Gabbard and Cotton could play for TMC if they wanted to. I think Ronald may be better at baseball than he is at basketball. probably the most well rounded athlete in Northern Kentucky this year. The bottom line at that level is that if you want to play, you can find a place to play.

If you want a spot, and you were one of the better players on your high school team, I think you can latch onto a D3 team. Some hangers on who weren't actively recruited could be relegated to JV most of their college time, and others are looked to be significant contributors or start on the varsity team.

 

Many kids who choose D3 schools have options to play at larger schools but choose D3 for various reasons, like academics, distance from home, etc.
