Does anyone have his coaching record by years?

Good story doc, he is the most intense person I know, and how he stayed as intense as he did with out compromising his Christian beliefs is the thing that I will forever remember about the man that is Coach Hoof. Truly a special person.

 

That story was as about as accurate depiction as can be painted, but you should have seen him on the sideline in his younger years, he has calmed down some now - believe it or not. Passion is the one word I would use to describe Coach Hoof.

98 7-4 lost in overtime to Bellevue in playoffs.

99 7-4 lost to Beechwood in playoffs.

00 1-9

01 5-6 lost to NCC in playoffs.

02 9-3 lost in second round to NCC in playoffs.

03 6-5 lost to Beechwood in playoffs.

04 5-6 lost to NCC in playoffs.

05 7-4 lost to Belvue in playoffs.

06 11-2 lost to NCC in third round or playoffs.

07 7-5 lost to LCA in second round of playoffs.

08 12-1 lost to LCA in third round of playoffs.

09 8-5 lost to LCA in third round of playoffs.

I believe he is 45 years old.

I was thinking his senior season was '79, that would make him about 49.

I had Coach Hoof in school and loved every second of his classes. My Dad coached him back in the late 70's in basketball and he loved "Randy" and the two kept in touch up until Dad passed away. Whenever I run into Coach Hoof he always asks about my Mom and Old Rambler. Last year his daughter went on a mission trip with us to New Orleans and she is just as classy as her Dad. He is a good man, a good Father, and good example to so many of us who he either taught or Coached. Thanks Coach.

Randy Vanderhoof personifies what a true man should aspire to be. He is a Christian influence on his teams and is a true Ram. Coach Hoof is well respected in the community, school, church and in these boy's hearts. I believe that Coach is also a strong influence at home and loved there more than anywhere else. Coach has a passion that I truly had never seen before from the sidelines. My favorite memory was in the first game that I was apart of with the Raceland program. We were at Ashland for the opening of the 2006 season and somewhere in the early 3rd quarter a "questionable" call had been made followed by the ejection of one of our players. Coach Hoof went bonkers, pacing the sidelines and crying out in disbelief. This went on for several plays and left me wondering what was happening. Then, he stops and with his patented stern, mad face addressed the back judge and screamed with his right index finger pointed directly at him so there was no confusion as to whom coaches displeasure was directed, "That's ok, keep it up! We are going to win this game and come back here and win three in a row!" I just remember thinking, is this guy THAT intense or crazy?! I soon realized that he was as pure a man, and marched to his own beat and loved everyone. He was as fair a coach as I have ever met. Good luck to Coach Hoof and whatever life has in store for him and his family. I know one thing, God will be first and foremost in whatever coach does or where he goes.

Rams' Vanderhoof leaves football job

RACELAND — On Monday, after 25 total years of serving on the coaching staff, the lifelong Ram stepped down as head football coach at Raceland, drawing a finish line to an intense ride.

 

“I’ve been sitting in the back seat for 25 years working with this program and letting the kids drive,” said an emotional Vanderhoof Tuesday. “It’s been a great ride.”

 

“It’s very rare that a small community like this really thrives on this football program,” said Vanderhoof, a 1980 graduate of Raceland. “There’s nothing like a Friday night in Raceland.”

It was pretty cool. I know that things will continue to advance at Raceland and that Coach Hoof has left his stamp on the program but I will miss him tremendously. I know the new coach will be a good one but the thought of not seeing Coach Hoof on Friday nights will be sad and a lot weird.

In honor of Old Rambler, "It's a sad day to be a Ram.",:cry: BUT get those lunch pails out and get ready to start the Coach Maynard era!!!!!!!!

And a bad day to be anyone on the Ram's schedule. Throw out last years scouting reports boys, there is a new Raceland coming at you this year.

 

And, no, I ain't tellin.

I doubt he changes much. He has been part of Raceland's success. With the loss of some OL and with skill returning with a veteran QB I would expect things to stay just about the same as last year. If they get a Denton/Carver combo again with a huge line look for the 2 back power gun and wishbone type stuff again... He already had full control of the defense so I wouldn't look for that to change too much.

Congratulations to coach Hoof for an outstanding career. Raceland has been an honored & worthy opponent, and you have done it with class & sportsmanship.

 

For the Raceland faithful, I feel your sorrow in seeing him go. But I have to believe that your team will be in good hands, and be quite ready to take on all comers when the season begins.
