May 17, 201016 yr Rasmus should shut the hell up. What kind of name is Colby Rasmus anyway? Colby is a cheese and Rasmus...? If Colby Rasmus married Dennis Rasmussen, he would be Mr. Dennis-Rasmus Rasmussen. Yeah, that will show Colby...His name is a cheese! Are you serious? Edited May 17, 201016 yr by Capernicus41
May 17, 201016 yr Simply a by product of playing for the guy that invented the game... I don't see why everyone hates TLR? He is a winner and will continue to win...I think he has earned the right to be cocky. Didn't seem to whine or make excuses after this one.. "Give them credit," said manager Tony La Russa. "Their hitters were on, their pitcher was on, they just beat us. ... we just got beat. They had better at-bats and they pitched better."
May 17, 201016 yr I think it is pure frustration at not being able to hit pitches that couldn't break a pane of glass. Bronson has made a career out of that. He never misses a start and keeps his team in the game. If he needs to save the bullpen and pitch 7 innings while giving up 8 runs he'll gladly do it. He gets a little more credit than he deserves because he's a cool guy and everyone likes him......However, he's a decent major league pitcher that plays the game the right way and he'll always play his guts out for you. I hated to see him leave the Sox. At least he got a ring out of it.
May 17, 201016 yr BA was the Reds' ace the second half of last year. He will have two or three games each year in which he will give up 8 or 10 runs in two innings. Take away those couple of outings and his stats are pretty darn respectable. Edited May 17, 201016 yr by the mathemagician
May 17, 201016 yr Yeah, that will show Colby...His name is a cheese! Are you serious? Oh hell yeah, I am so very serious. Can't you tell? lol Wow... BTW, if Reds outfielder Jay Bruce married Cards outfielder Jon Jay, he would be Jay Jay... DYNOMITE!!! Seriously... Edited May 17, 201016 yr by the mathemagician
May 17, 201016 yr If I had a problem with any of this it would be that Rasmus is a little young to start jawing.
May 17, 201016 yr I think Arroyo has moved well beyond an innings eater. They showed a stat in his last outing that he's like 3rd in the NL in outings where he's gone at least 7 innings and allowed 2 runs or fewer. Carpenter was in front of him and I can't remember the other player. He will have the occasional outing where he goes 2 innings and gets bombed, but like you mentioned he'll keep the ball if necessary to save the bullpen. He may not have top 5 stuff, but he gives you a chance to beat the top 5 pitchers in the NL.
May 17, 201016 yr I think this is a prime example of taking something out of context. Here is what I could find on it. Colby Rasmus described Arroyo's assortment as "doo-doo" and "slop." Fellow outfielder Matt Holliday used more diplomacy to say much the same. "He doesn't pitch in patterns," Holliday said. "You don't necessarily get a fastball in a fastball count. You don't necessarily get a breaking ball in a breaking ball count. He's one of those guys you have to find the right approach against."
