April 13, 201016 yr Grades are a non issue for Marquis. He will have zero problem qualifying. Who to compare him to is something that was discussed a bit as we drove home from VA yesterday. He is the same level of player as a Wall or Rose, but his game is much different. He's much more aggressive than both with the ball in his hands attacking the basket, and is already a much better outside shooter than both at this stage. He doesn't have the same smooth style, but plays with a chip on his shoulder and looks to dunk on whoever is in his way when he gets the chance... Sounds good. Great info as always.

I know your getting blown up for info in this thread, and I know you've been working yourself to death gathering Bearcat info for this years/next years classes, football, etc. But since you were at the Boo Williams this weekend, was there any talk in circles about what Cal's going to do for his four position? Basically what I'm asking is did you hear any info about Jones or Leslie. Over the past week or so I've gotten kind of nervous when thinking about the possibility of not getting one of the two.
April 13, 201016 yr Author There isn't much talk about the previous set of players at these events. Of the few things I did hear UK feels pretty confident about Jones, but it is still going to be tough to get him off the left coast...
April 13, 201016 yr Thanks for reminding me why I don't pass along many of my stories when UK is involved... I forgot how sensitive you can be.

Cal's definitely put all the eggs into that basket, thats for sure. Hope it works out because it looks as if it has costed him Leslie. I think the disaster going on with the Oregon coaching situation is playing into Cal's favor, but like you said he really feels comfortable out there. Thanks for the tid bits though, they are appreciated. Aside from watching great basketball of course, I didn't know how much you and your colleagues discussed the current recruiting situations as compared to discussing the options for some of the 11' kids and beyond.

April 13, 201016 yr Nice work GT, I will be very happy to see this kid in a UK uni. He seems like the real deal on and off the court.
April 13, 201016 yr I take my work very seriously, so I have little tolerance for you acting like a 5 year old when I share some info... Easy, bro. No one took CC's comments as those of a 5 yr old. We like to have fun on here. No harm no foul.
April 13, 201016 yr two of the main big men targets they are looking at for 2011 to myself since you guys don't seem to appreciate the info... :walk: Quincy Miller and Laquinton Ross?
April 13, 201016 yr Author Quincy Miller and Laquinton Ross? No and no. Miller is more wing type player and Ross isn't likely....

April 13, 201016 yr Author Would Teague, Gilchrist be #'s 1 and 2 for 2011 in your eyes? Teague is the best player right now, Gilchrist is the best college prospect and Miller is the best NBA prospect. UK is likely to land all three...
