As a decision gets closer by the day speculation is that Kentucky has taken the lead in this three horse race, and after sending Derrick Rose, Tyreke Evans and now John Wall to the NBA after a one year stay learning under John Calapari it would be no surprise if that is his final destination.

That sounds like a winner to me. Now the big question. Is there any chance he is not going to qualify? I really haven't paid much attention to the kid so I know very little about him.

Thanks for the post GameTime. The linked article on bearcatlair is A+. As a Cat fan (Wildcat/Bearcat) I am pulling for Marquis to sign with Coach Cal. If he goes elsewhere, I hope he ends up at UC. :thumb:

Cal has got it to the point where the top point guard every year has to at least look at UK.

Grades are a non issue for Marquis. He will have zero problem qualifying.

 

Who to compare him to is something that was discussed a bit as we drove home from VA yesterday. He is the same level of player as a Wall or Rose, but his game is much different. He's much more aggressive than both with the ball in his hands attacking the basket, and is already a much better outside shooter than both at this stage. He doesn't have the same smooth style, but plays with a chip on his shoulder and looks to dunk on whoever is in his way when he gets the chance...
