Miss State was interested, I know that Army and Ohio were going to contact him soon, Eastern was starting to get things togther on him as well.

 

I asked Jarrod before the Sweet 16 this year on where he wanted to go, and told him I was on to a few things. UK started to get things going within th last two weeks.

 

Wireman and I knew this and were emailing each other all yesterday after I talked to a few of the coaches.

 

If people give him time, he will be a nice player. As with Justice, fans will love how he plays! I am thinking possibly like a Cameron Mills?

 

I'd love to see him be better than Cameron Mills. In time, I think he can be better than Mills and the whole state will fall in love with him instantly.

I hope they need someone to get the real players water when they need it, cause that's what he'll be doing for four years if he comes to Kentucky.

I'd be hesitant to compare anyone to Cameron Mills, Ravi Moss, or any other walk-on who actually played.

 

If Polson wants to come to Kentucky, I hope he gets that opportunity; however, I don't expect him to have a great individual career in Lexington.

 

And that's not a knock on him. I'm sure he's a great kid, but Kentucky is attracting ELITE talent.

This is some of what I wrote about Jarrod.

 

"Jarrod Polson has very good basketball skills that are surpassed only by his intelligence for the game. Jarrod has all of the intangibles that make very good basketball players. He makes great judgments out on the floor, and is always aware of changing defenses by the opposing team. Jarrod does what is necessary for the team to win rather than force things for himself. He is a team player. He works hard on both ends of the floor, and has been working out all year and will be a much stronger this year.

 

Jarrod Polson has played basketball for me on Team Kentucky in the past, I could tell right away during the 2008-2009 HS season that Jarrod was going to be a very nice player, He has a very nice shot, has a high percentage from the line, and isn't afraid to hit the boards or do anything a coach will ask of him for the team, and he can create his own shots/plays. In 4 years he can be a contributor for UK. I'd be very surprised if he isn't getting playing time at some point. I don't think we'd have to wait until Senior Night to see him on the floor.

As much as I'd love to see it for any Ky kid, especially Polson, I just don't see it. That is no knock on him either... If BCG was here I could see it, but not with Coach Cal. I hope I'm eating my words four years from now though because that was be something special.

From what I've seen of him, Polson has a very high basketball IQ, can handle the ball really well with either hand and under pressure, finishes arouns the basket with both hands and can get his teammates involved with some nice passing.

 

I would love to see him get the chance to walk on because Uk fans need some guys like this to root for. We know he'll be there 4 years if he gets the chance and he's a home grown kid. When he gets into the weight program and adjusts to the speed of the game I don't see why he couldn't be a role player eventually. I do think he would need to get stronger and become a lights out shooter to make any real contributions, but I would love to see him get the opportunity. If he's determined and gets to practice against the kind of talent that Cal has been bringing in everyday, who knows how much he could improve.

I hope you're right, I like the kid, but I just don't see it happening.

He is athletic too. He jumped Center for WJ. I've actually had a friend of mine from Jessamine Co. telling me about him for years. And this guy was a College player and knows talent. I wish him the best.
