Lawrence is an outstanding QB. I do agree he's the top QB in NKY. But it might be a tough challenge for him next year without the 2009 line and a very special RB that defenses were forced to focus on.

He may be one of the best. The question is: how will we know? Will CovCath have a QB with the passing skills needed to regularly complete passes to Connelly? He might be the best but ironically might not finish in the top 10 receiving stats. I have to think with the many talented RBs CovCath will have this year, there won't be a lot of passing going on in Park Hills.

 

Gold from Highlands is another very good one. On par with Connelly in my opinion. After having a strong year as a sophomore, his role as a receiver diminished somewhat last season with the arrival of Drennen, the continued high level of play by Buten and play selection by Mueller (lots of running plays called). I expect Gold to have a huge year this year.

As a collective group the bunch from SK is very solid. They do not have one superstar at reciever which means it will be hard to defend them all. And yes we will play with 5 linemen and yes if we could figure a way for Lawerence to throw himself the ball and block for himself we would. By the way Lawerence and Simpson took turns driving the bus to games alst year.

I think you may see an offense similar to this past years Highlands team. I am not saying it will be as potent, but the breakdown between run and pass will be similar. Both Buten and Drennen were in the top ten, this year, so I think it is very realistic to think that a talented receiver like Connelly will still be a very key player for the Colonels.

I think it is still an open competition. Three of the four candidates play baseball and did not participate much during spring ball.

6'4 kid that had 38 catches for 638 yards this season as a FRESHMAN. He's only going to get bigger, stronger, and faster with more work in the off season.
