Tayshaun, P-Pat, and Chuck.

On a side note, in the unlikely event that P-Pat decides his heart is in KY and come back next year do we even have a discussion about him?

I don't know how you all feel about it, but to me it's not just about stats. It is who exemplifies most what it means to be a Kentucky Wildcat. That is why I voted for guys like Patrick Patterson and Jeff Sheppard.

So because they are 2 of the most talented freshmen to ever play at UK, they both set record as freshmen at UK and they both will likely be top 5 picks in the draft after 1 year of college basketball, they shouldn't be in the rafters? They had better freshman years than most of the guys who are hanging in the rafters, right? :idunno: They were the main reason UK went from an NIT team to an Elite 8 team, but yet they can't hang from the rafters. So unfair. Serious question......What guys hanging in the rafters had better freshman seasons than those two? I really don't know the answer. I am curious to know though.

I think if you vote PPat in the rafters that Wall and Cousins should receive your vote as well. He hadn't played in an NCAA tourney game until those two arrived on campus. IMO, it's kind of hard to justify legend status when you needed a new coach and two top 5 draft picks to get you into your first NCAA tourney game after 3 years.

If UK had won it all this year or even made the Final Four would that change anyone's opinions on whether Wall and Cousins get rafter status?[/QUOTE]

Wouldn't change mine. They are two of the most talented players ever at UK, not just frosh IMO...but I need more to retire a jersey.

What if Cal flops on signings this spring and KY limps into the NCAA tournament? Does that change our view of a successful-era that Wall/Cousins escorted into?

I think it makes the Wall/Cousins era more poignant.

What if Cal doesn't flop and hits a homerun again but the Cats don't make it to the Elite 8, just the Sweet 16 or less? Should that increase Wall/Cousins even more?

I'm not sure I'd vote for any of them...I'd have to think more about a few of them.

I voted for two: Delk & Tubby. "TD" played in two final fours, won a national title, & was the leading scorer/tourney MVP on the best team in school history. One of the top scorers, 4-year player, never had any off-the-court issues. Delk is a slam-dunk IMO.

Tubby gets it too, b/c any coach who wins a title should receive such an honor. Sure, the guy struggled in the latter part of his UK tenure, but he was a class act & represented the university well.

I'm of the opinion that we should keep the rafter crowd to a minimum. Arguments could be made for Hayes, Pat, & Prince; and as much as I like each of them, I don't think they're deserving (unless Pat would come back for another year & overtake Issel as the all-time scorer or rebounder).
