I'm also interested in hearing from those who have been to Aruba. I've considered going a couple times. It looks beautiful.

I would like to know what there is to do outside of the resorts. This was my main complaint about Punta Cana. There was absolutely no reason to leave the resort because there was nothing to do outside. If you left I suppose you could have walked to one of the farms that surrounded the place.

I love seeing the towns at the places I visit. I love the hole in the wall bars and the shops that sell stuff made by the locals. This is why I loved the Riviera Maya so much. Playa Del Carmen was a blast.

Went to Aruba last year with some friends who have been there before. It was awesome!

We stayed at the Marriott and did some excursion type stuff(rode dune buggy's) it was great.

I need to go back.

Great spot! My hotel had it's own beach, and a boat would you pick you up from inside the lobby and take you out there. To the left was the family beach, and to the right was the adult beach "topless". Nice casinos, and sportsbooks also. Always 20+ mph trade winds. Wreaks havoc on the ladies nice hair, :). The scuba diving was outstanding visibility. Would go back.

Could you tell me anything about the night life ? Not clubs, but small bars, places to eat and shop outside of the resorts ?

Clyde, if you decide to go the all inclusive route, I highly reccommend the RIU chain of resorts. We stayed at the RIU Palace in the Riviera Maya. It was great.

I go every year. It is my absolute favorite place to go. Stay at the Marriot. Safe, clean, friendly, great food either expensive or pizza. Spring break is the best time to go. Great breeze and 90 degree weather. Never feels hot but easy to burn. My favorite though are the casinos with live poker rooms.

Ahhhhhhhhhhh!

Great small bars, shopping downtown is nice too. Always feel safe and plenty of cabs.

If you go to Aruba don't miss this Tomcar attraction. Doubledeuce tried to eliminate the paNDA on this adventure while in Aruba. It alone is worth the trip.

You are a mind reader Clyde. It wasn't exactly that, but something very close to that. :p
